• Created awareness of Biotech crops, explaining to local farmers issues involved, including pros and cons of cultivating GMO crops and myths surrounding their cultivation.
• Closely worked with KARLO Katumani on maize field trials, establishing constraints involved and varietal release

• Carried out field research on nightshade production and distribution in Western Kenya, varieties grown and phenolic composition of the varieties grown.
• Carried out market visits in Siaya, Kisii and Luanda markets to determine consumption patterns of various nightshades grown.
• Carried out field research on water stress effects on phytochemical accumulation in grown African nightshades in Western Kenya.
• Mapped different varieties of African nightshades grown through GIS.

• Carried out research on root knot nematodes, their prevalence and spread within t pineapple plantations
• Approved Certification and treatment of splints for planting
• Carried out research on belsap effectiveness in reducing cost of production in pineapple plantations (It was realized that plants under belsap required less irrigation intervals hence this helped lower the cost of production by 30%).

• Agricultural field journalist; Scouted for and visited star farmers in Siaya and Ugunja, interviewing them on their successes and challenges encountered and then relayed obtained information for broadcasting.
• Organized Agricultural field days in star farmer farms as a way of promoting agricultural uptake by small-scale rural farmers.
• Promoted cassava production in Ugunja as opposed to maize production to help farmers cope with ever-changing climatic conditions.

• Trained enumerators on 2009 census data collection procedures.
• Assigned enumerators to various data collection zones.
• Ensured enumerators had all necessary materials for data collection.
• Made follow ups on the enumerators in the field through phone calls.
• Counter checked the data entered on the questionnaires to ensure high quality data was collected.
