In my previous working experience at KEPRECON, being a Project Study Clinical Officer, I also contributed my effort to the LIFE DS Research Project as a clinician under the support of KEMRI –Wellcome Trust.

  • Responsibilities included involvement in clinical administration, and ensuring compliance with study protocols while prioritizing participant comfort. This encompassed identifying and approaching patients, assessing their eligibility for the study, and registering them per ethical and regulatory requirements. For this study, the objectives, procedures, and potential risks and benefits were clearly explained to participants.
  • In the LIFE DS project, my duties included supervision of patient safety, reporting of adverse events, and treatment administration. I kept accurate documentation consistent with GCP alongside record-keeping processes throughout the process.
  • Furthermore, I worked with interprofessional partners to manage study coordination and organizational aspects and to incorporate patient safety considerations. This role expanded my knowledge of clinical trial management, data, and regulatory compliance procedures which are highly essential when carrying out medical research.
