Comprehensive care departments

• Counseling and taking patients through HIV counseling testing enrolling positive patients into care and management of presenting conditions
• Requesting and interpretation of necessary laboratory investigations required for the initiation of ARV drugs to HIV positive patients
• Provision of TB care and treatment and ensuring proper adherence
• Contact and defaulter tracing
• Provision of PMTCT to all HIV positive mothers
• Giving medical updates to clinical staff , preparing weekly reports and organizing and overseeing patients health talks, monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatments accordingly.
• Improving patient outcomes and delivery of care through improved clinical quality processes.
• Completing patient referrals to other medical specialists.

Duties and responsibilities

• Attending daily ward rounds in pediatrics , internal medicine , obstetrics and gynecology , surgery ,public health and psychiatry on a rotational basis
• Admissions and clerking of in patients presentation of clerked patients during ward rounds
• performing major and minor surgeries under supervision
• preparing weekly morbidity and mortality audit reports

Hospital based elective experience as an undergraduate student rotating in internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology departments
