I am Senior Research Scientist at the Kenya Forestry Research Institute based in Turkana County, specializing in natural resources management, particularly non-timber forest products and the establishment of Nature-based enterprises. My current focus involves leading impactful projects, including the rehabilitation of degraded lands using indigenous tree species, climate change mitigation through eco-enterprises like apiculture and pasture production, and extensive mapping of natural resources in Turkana, West Pokot, and Elgeyo Marakwet counties. Collaborating closely with the county government and development partners, I contribute to the formulation of policy frameworks aligned with community needs and development interventions. In addition to my research, I play a crucial role in technology dissemination through various channels such as local radios, field days, posters, journal papers, books, and manuals. My dedication has resulted in notable achievements, including enhanced ecosystem resilience and positive collaborations between research institutions, government bodies, and local communities. Looking ahead, my passion lies in advancing research-driven solutions for sustainable development, contributing to global efforts in natural resource conservation, and uplifting marginalized communities.
