My main role is to support the Investment arm of the organization by managing the Access to Finance Portfolio in my assigned region (Western and Rift Valley Bloc).


Key achievements include but not limited to:

  • Implemented loan and grant disbursement policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with the Agribiz Financing operational manual, for their respective regions.
  • Managed and monitored loan and grant portfolios worth over Kshs.148.4 million at the regional level ensuring timely disbursement, repayment, and risk mitigation.
  • Analyzed and evaluated the creditworthiness of applications (Proof of Concept Grants, Result-based financing and Matching Grants) to make informed investment decisions.
  • Conducting due diligence on potential borrowers and grantees to verify eligibility and suitability in compliance with the Agribiz Financing operational manual.
  • Providing technical assistance and support to borrowers and grantees for successful project implementation.

Key achievements include:

  • Managed a portfolio of 250 enterprises in various agribusiness value chains across 4 different Counties.
  • Offered business advisory support to Start Ups, SMEs and CBOs by helping them develop; bankable business plans, business and financial models that promote revenue growth and marketing strategies that promote customer attraction and retention, achieved 76% success rate in scaling up the enterprises.
  • Offered investment support to 42% of Start Ups, SMEs and CBOs through structuring grant and debt financing solutions , assisting clients with additional resource mobilization and preparing enterprises to be investor ready using knowledge of investment requirements.
  • Provided technical assistance by assessing the needs of the enterprises supported and recommending them for the necessary support including but not limited to technical trainings, certifications, product development and testing, product analysis and relevant agronomic support.

KCB Foundation in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation is jointly implementing an innovative 5-Year (2019 -2024) nationwide project; Young Africa Works-Kenya, that seeks to create over 1.5 million job opportunities in Kenya.

My role was to offer implementation support to beneficiaries by offering business advisory to establish sustainable and investment-ready enterprises within the Agriculture, Manufacturing, Construction, and Creatives industries.


Key achievements include;

  • Facilitated access to credit of approximately Ks. 80.8 Million to 101 MSMEs by conducting loan appraisals, loan administration, monitoring, and control in collaboration with the credit department of KCB bank.
  • Organized over 50 business development workshops for 3,919 enterprise owners; including designing a business development curriculum and periodic review of training manuals for the various sectors.
  • Guided the germination of 300 start-ups & the success of the businesses by designing sustainable business models and providing hands-on business support in business planning, practical problem-solving, Go-To-Market strategies, business legal frameworks, and financial management.
  • Built the capacity of a 100 youthful farmers’ community, leading to the registration of a cooperative society, and the formation of a technical working group on the value addition of agricultural produce.

The 2jiajiri program is a flagship program of KCB Foundation that seeks to catalyze employment and wealth creation among existing youth enterprises. My role was to provide leadership and management to a team of Business Development officers in Nairobi region spread across 8 counties in the implementation of the 2jiajiri program.


Key achievements Include;

  • Engineered the creation of significant program guiding tools such as standard operating procedures, and the Business Development customer journey.
  • Led a team of 11 business development officers in 8 counties towards the provision of business development services to 1500 beneficiaries.
  • Organized and facilitated 41 business development workshops on
    Entrepreneurship, Business Development, to over 300 MSMEs across 8 counties; including designing and periodic review of training manuals.
  • Facilitated access to credit by conducting funding due diligence, loan
    administration, monitoring, and control, where Kshs. 40 Million was awarded to approximately 60 MSMEs.
  • Facilitated the growth of beneficiaries engaged in the program to 3,000 in the region through organizing and conducting sensitization, recruitment interviews, and conducting due diligence.
  • Guided the incubation of 130 start-ups by designing sustainable business models and providing hands-on business support in all technical areas.
