Achievements:

· Nominated for and won - 2021 Vodacom CEO Team Awards as legal lead in a cross-functional team that developed and took to market device financing program known as Lipa Mdogo Mdogo, which sought to broaden data democratization in Kenya, by enabling subscribers to purchase smartphones via manageable daily installments of as low as Kshs 20 (approximately $ 1).

· Nominated for and won - 2020 Vodacom CEO Team Awards developed, managed and delivered a USSD and IVR information service (COVID-19 Helpline) with an escalation process leading to the Ministry of Health’s Rapid Response Team.

· Nominated for and won - 2020 Safaricom CEO Staff Awards as legal lead in a cross functional team that delivered COVID-19 Helpline to Government of Kenya within record time.

· Negotiated settlements with opposing counsel where a popular musician sued Safaricom, making him brand ambassador and making a saving of Kshs. 40,000,000.00.

· Developed strategies for various court proceedings and negotiations.

· Served as lead legal counsel for BYOB (Be Your Own Boss) TV show, overseeing its legal administrative functions, and providing general legal counsel on all production affairs, including television development and production, contractual issues; clearance issues involving all aspects of intellectual property, and publicity and promotional activities.

· Successfully lobbied the Chairperson of Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) to grant Safaricom an “approval in principle” (a novel concept at the time) due to Covid-19 regulations, which enabled the company to run its promotional agendas, consequently meeting its SMS revenue target for FY 2020.

· Spearheaded digitization of Safaricom's intellectual property portfolio thus reducing manual elements and improving efficiency.

· Liaised with Human Resources to review and enhance HR policies and review employee contracts.

· Advised senior executives through major decisions and follow-up litigations.

· Researched and evaluated risk factors affecting business decisions and operations, applied effective risk management techniques and offered proactive advice on possible legal issues.
