  • Consumer Business Division and Channels, Sales and Distribution Division supporting over 1,000 internal customers - Contract Management: Negotiation, drafting, and review of various contracts, agreements, and partnerships, including vendor contracts, licensing agreements, terms and conditions and content creation agreements; legal advisory; risk management; legal, regulatory and organisational compliance; legal advisory to Safaricom subsidiary Safaricom
  • Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC (STEP); and internal and external key stakeholder management
  • Achievements:
  • Nominated for and won the 2021 Vodacom CEO Team Awards as the legal lead in a cross-functional team that developed and took to market the device financing program known as Lipa Mdogo Mdogo.
  • The program sought to broaden data democratisation in Kenya, by enabling subscribers to purchase a smartphone via manageable daily instalments of as low as Kshs 20 (approximately $ 1).
  • In August 2021, I successfully turned a litigious situation with a popular musician into a mutually beneficial relationship, making him a brand ambassador and saving the company Kshs. 40,000,000.00.
  • Nominated for and won the 2020 Vodacom CEO Team Awards developed, managed and delivered a USSD and IVR information service (the Covid-19 Helpline) with an escalation process leading to the Ministry of Health’s Rapid Response Team.
  • Nominated for and won the 2020 Safaricom CEO Staff Awards as the legal lead in a cross functional team that delivered the Covid-19 Helpline to the Government of Kenya within record time.
  • Developed strategies for court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Served as the lead legal counsel for the BYOB (Be Your Own Boss) TV show, overseeing its legal administrative functions associated with the show, and providing general legal counsel on all production affairs, including television development and production, contractual issues; clearance issues involving all aspects of intellectual property, and publicity and promotional activities
  • Successfully lobbied the Chairperson of the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) to grant Safaricom an “approval in principle” (a novel concept at the time) due to Covid-19 regulations, which enabled the company to run its promotional agendas, consequently meeting its revenue target for FY 2020
  • Spearheaded the digitization of the intellectual property portfolio thus reducing the manual elements and improving efficiency
