  • Responsible for leading planning organizing and coordinating HSS program activities including implementation of Quality standards for national, County, Sub-County, and facility levels in both public and private hospitals in Kenya.
  • Implemented the GSK-funded project in Kisumu County, Seme Kombewa Sub-County Hospital

Key Achievements.

  • Led project activities through coordination and supervision of the implementation of project activities in collaboration with the County government of Kisumu at Seme Constituency development team in Kombewa maternity hospital infrastructure development.
  • Initiated and scaled up COVID-19 online training targeting frontline health workers from public, private, and faith-based facilities. Trained over 13,500 HCWs through 25 sets of series of webinars.
  • Developed and rolled out the Kenya Quality Model for Health (KQMH) Capacity building implementation road map which is now adopted by MOH and Counties among other stakeholders in Kenya.
  • Innovatively Developed the Quality status/Audit/assessment tool/Quality Scorecard for all health facilities in Kenya piloted in 7 counties and adopted by the Quality Healthcare Kenya Awards for assessment in Kenya
  • Developed Quality assessment scorecard piloted in Tharaka Nithi, Machakos, Kisumu, Vihiga, Nairobi and Kwale Counties reaching 50 health facilities
  • Participated in the development and implementation of the inaugural Quality Healthcare Kenya Award 2019, 2020 and successfully carried out an assessment or audit/assessment as National assessor for 2021.

  • Coordinated the sub-county and project teams to carry out QI audits and Quality assessments using SIMS, QI Scorecard, and KHQIF checklist as well as KQMH
  • Adopted an award system for facilities teams after a quality assessment score by Langata Sub County Health Management team (SCHMT)
  • Developed and adopted National QI policies, SOPs and ensure adherence to Quality standards and apply QI approaches to routine health services, and set QI targets for monitoring and reporting with routine facility-level team meetings.

Responsible for overseeing the project designing, implementing Integrated HIV management and expansion of 90:90:90 global ambitious HIV target: HIV testing, ART initiation and adherence to ART and follow up including viral suppression. Support M&E team and data use for decision-making by monitoring project Quality indicators aiming at achieving project targets and ensuring data quality management. Collaborated with stakeholders, MOH and donors for effective project supervision and strategic adoption and scale-up of working solutions in all project sites.


Key Achievements

  • Effective scaled-up of Quality activities to all health facilities which led to an increased number of clients reached from 2,500 clients to over 12,000 clients by September 2019.
  • Successfully led the adoption of ART guidelines changes and ensured site-level adherence to set quality standards. Led the Setting up of Quality Management teams in 9 health facilities in Nairobi County in Kenya.
  • Successfully coordinated the establishment of three new project sites; identification, set standards, effective staff management, mentorship, and deployment across the four facilities in Kibera slums in Kenya.
  • Increased client enrolment uptake from an initial 1,000 at entry to 8,000 over 2 years period.
