Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Vincent Lokeya has over 5 years experience working across several counties in Kenya. For the past 5 years he has worked as a WASH professional for a range of INGOs, donor-funded bilateral programmes and has extensive development and hands-on experience in implementation of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene projects in fragile and resilient contexts. He has demonstrated management and organizational capabilities, able to work under high pressure and in demanding environments to deliver high quality results/outcomes. Vincent has significant knowledge and expertise in ASAL development issues, program design, management, monitoring and evaluation, fundraising and advocacy. He has worked on numerous programs for donors, UN agencies, communities and traditional institutions in the ASALs. He is strong in documentation and dissemination of lessons learnt. Vincent possesses a Master's degree in Water, Sanitation and Health Engineering, complemented by certifications in Project Management. He has a proven track record of success in conducting comprehensive needs assessments, designing, and implementing innovative market-based solutions, and providing accurate information for effective project design and monitoring. Vincent is skilled in project management, budgeting, stakeholder coordination, and capacity-building. He has strong analytical skills and the ability to develop tailored WASH systems development models to address unique challenges and opportunities in emergency and recovery WASH projects. Vincent is committed to enhancing resilience and adaptive capacity of communities to climate-related challenges through improved WASH services and market-based economic opportunities. He is adept at fostering stakeholder alignment and ensuring smooth project implementation.
IRC WASH Unit provides support and advise to approximately 5 humanitarian aid projects in refugee camps (Kakuma and Hagadera) and refugee hosting communities funded by USAID/BHA, UNICEF, ECHO, LEGO and Grundfos Foundation.
