Experienced program management, monitoring, and evaluation professional with over 8 years of experience working in Eastern, Southern, and West Africa. I have also engaged with regional bodies on collaborative research work in the Asia Pacific Region mainly on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) compliance and regulatory programs, and Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) programs.
I was selected to be part of the 2025/2026 GIFCT addressing youth radicalization and mobilization working group. This working group is focused on identifying the current trends in youth radicalization and mobilization and lessons learned from prevention and positive intervention strategies to address these dynamics. The group will also map the evolution of threats and responses, considering in particular how terrorists and violent extremists have targeted younger audiences online.
Project Management
I have successfully led the process of conducting National Terrorism Financing Risk assessment for NPOs and for VA/VASPs in countries across Eastern and Southern Africa. Mozambique TF Risk Assessment for NPOs was concluded in 2024 and the country applied for FATF re-rating. Kenya's TF risk assessment of NPOs was concluded and the report launched in December 2024. Currently, I am leading the TF risk assessment for Virtual Assets and Virtual Assets Service Providers in the United Republic of Tanzania.
Technical assistance and capacity building program with Djibouti, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Uganda to strengthen risk-based supervision, FIU capacities, and criminal justice capacities to detect, combat, and prevent terrorism financing, as well as bolster inter-agency and regional cooperation.
This research is undertaken in collaboration with the APG secretariat, and it aims to identify successes, challenges, and lessons learned in the implementation of measures to protect Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) from terrorism financing abuse, in line with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendation 8 and Immediate Outcome 10.
Technical assistance and capacity building program to strengthen AML/CFT frameworks and compliance in Djibouti, Mozambique, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, with a focus on financial investigations, and risk-based supervision of virtual assets (VA) and virtual assets service providers (VASPs) in line with FATF Recommendation 15.
The Countering Violent Extremism in Prisons (CVE-P) Program in Kenya aims to improve prison staff understanding of the challenges posed by violent extremism within prisons, and how they can contribute to managing and addressing it effectively. The program will deliver the CVE-P Awareness Raising Course to all prison staff across Kenya's eight regions through a training-of-trainers process and coordinated national rollout.
