The primary IT Helpdesk and Network Operations Center is based in South Africa, which handles the routine day to day support and monitoring and is first point of contact for user support. Reporting to the Helpdesk and NOC, my role was:

• Responsible for doing the infrastructure deployment for new stores.
• Responsible for doing periodic maintenance / upgrades to the network equipment.
• Provide network support services for devices such as switches, access points, firewalls and other hardware.
• Provide hands-on support for end-user devices (laptops, PCs, printers and other hardware) when remote support from Helpdesk is unable to resolve the situation.

• Consultation, Design, and Implementation of Network Infrastructure – Servers, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, Biometric Access Control, CCTV IP Cameras and Recorders, VoIP PABXs, and passive equipment for all
• Planned implementation of network enhancements and upgrades.
• Oversaw deployment and maintenance of computer systems, server upgrades and operating systems.
• Provided detailed information on hardware and software products so that appropriate stakeholders could make suitable purchasing decisions.
• Provided firewall and VPN management.
• Supervising sub-contractors
• Sales of hardware and software solutions.

• Collaborating with the Networking and sales divisions to design and propose networks for prospective clients, both new / overhauling and expansion / upgrading networks.

• Administrate the company software (Tally Gold v-6.3 and v-9)
• Maintain the Servers, and ensure smooth flow of Emails through the Exchange 2003 server
