Infant Young Children Feeding (IYCF) program;

  • I worked with the IYCF team, which implemented the output of the IYCF program in Zaatari refugee camp.
  • I was involved in engagement and dialogue meetings with the local women, grandmothers, and existing community groups to discuss issues related to IYCF. That is, appropriate infant and young child feeding with emphasis on the importance of breastfeeding and complementary feeding.
  • I was part of the team which promoted awareness of breastfeeding to women who visited the IYCF caravans.

Protection program;

  • Familiarised myself with the program and what they do, which includes raising awareness on children's rights, violence, and early marriage.
  • Accompanied social workers on their field visits to supervise and be part of sessions in various parts of Jordan. The sessions included children, youth and parents.

Education program;

  • Learnt what the education program is about, specifically, the work that the education program does at the Zaatari refugee camp.
  • I was part of the education team at the Zaatari camp, in the various UNICEF-funded schools. I followed up on the process of enrollment of children to schools, monitored and followed up on attendance of both the students and teachers.
  • Dealt with conflicts and problems among students and among the teachers.
  • Learnt about some psychological problems encountered at the school and how the psychologists deal with them
