Am working as an Assistant Water Resources Engineer undertaking the following roles:

• Inspectorate of design reports, hydrological reports, site works and permitting of construction of small to medium scaled dams, weirs, artificial aquifers, storage tanks, water treatment facilities, boreholes drilling, and pipelines, for proposed water abstraction from surface water and groundwater sources within Embu regional basin area in Kenya, to ensure they are up to standard. Therefore, protecting the drainage basin in the catchment areas hence ensuring reliability and durability of water supply in the region and in Nairobi capital city of Kenya. This reduces work load by 50%.
• Laboratory analyst for water constituents in terms of bacteria, chemicals, heavy metals, pH, Dissolved oxygen, turbidity, temperature and minerals such as phosphorous and nitrates among others. This ensures safety for both humans and the environment. This has increased compliance to 90% for surface water, and ground water users safety to almost 100% due to increased awareness and testing.
• Laboratory analyst for wastewater for sources considered close to or discharging into surface waters or seeping into the groundwater sources. I analyse wastewater for biological oxygen demand (B.O.D) and chemical oxygen demand (C.O.D) to ensure safety for both humans and the environment. This has increased compliance to 90% for surface water.
• Writing reports on abstraction and pollution which draw conclusions that help in enforcement and providing solutions where necessary. Therefore ensuring reliability and safety for the end users. This has reduced work load by 50%, and increased responsiveness to almost 100%.
• Enforcement activities in the drainage basin region with the help of the regional police to ensure non-compliance is punished particularly on effluent discharge. This has increased compliance to 90%.
• Indigenous water sources protection and conservation by ensuring the Water Users Association bodies under the Embu Regional Basin have provided protection in the form of fencing, construction of gravity storage tanks, and water treatment facilities in cases where the water is used directly by the locals. This has increased safety and durability by almost 100%.
• Also ensuring there is proper maintenance and non encroachment into the essential indigenous water sources that provide water to the Tana Drainage Basin. This has ensured safety and reliability by almost 100%.

Worked as an Assistant Inspectorate Engineer under the following roles:

• I was an inspectorate for both site works and design drawings. I inspected design drawings to ensure building code standards are met and also the county government standards. This increased daily work output by 50%.
• Oversaw what was going on-site to ensure everything went as stipulated which included road pavement repairs, drainage repairs, sewer system repairs, under road drainage unblocking, fixing of damaged road utilities, carrying out construction material tests and also overseeing specific works in specific locations within project area. This increased daily work output by 50%.
• Undertook roll calls for personnel, materials, and machinery available on-site very early in morning. This increased overall sites work integrity to 90%.
• I submitted reports to my supervisors in all departments I was in, this includes Head Engineer Roads Nairobi county, Head Engineer Drainage Nairobi County, and Head Engineer Structures Nairobi County. This increased responsiveness by 50%.
• In design drawings, indicated areas that needed clarification or those incorrect for further authorization by Head Engineers. This reduced work load by 50%.
• These inspectorate activities yielded desired construction outcomes for clients and also ensured County's integrity is always upheld. Clients' feedback and follow ups increased to 97%.
• Developed and maintained courteous and effective working relationships. This reduced delays and time wastage by 50%.
• Performed duties in accordance with applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines to promote safe working environment. Taking half inspectorate role, this increased site safety by 50%.
• Developed team communications and information for meetings.
• Adhered to social distancing protocols and wore mask or face shield.
• Improved operations through consistent hard work, innovativeness, adaptivity and dedication.
