  • Contributed to departmental initiatives by serving on committees focused on curriculum development, accreditation processes, and program improvements.

Assistant Professor Of Physics

Washington College
05.2022 - Current
  • Utilized various forms of assessment to accurately gauge student progress throughout the semester, adjusting instructional strategies as needed based on performance data.
  • Enhanced student understanding of complex physics concepts by incorporating hands-on experiments and real-world examples.

Research Associate

CERN
05.2020 - 08.2022
  • Monitored progress against project timelines, ensuring timely completion of deliverables while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Gathered, arranged, and corrected research data to create representative graphs and charts highlighting results for presentations.
  • Assisted in the development of new research proposals, resulting in increased funding opportunities and project growth potential.

Research Associate

The Ohio State University
05.2020 - 05.2022
  • Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to drive project success and achieve objectives.
  • Helped team meet regulatory requirements by coordinating documentation and filings.
  • Presented research findings at industry conferences, increasing visibility for the organization.

Postdoctoral Research Associate

CERN
08.2014 - 05.2020
  • Search for physics beyond the Standard Model
  • Designed research projects and alternative approaches and discussed results with professor.
  • Leveraged interpersonal and communication skills to mentor PhD, graduate and undergraduate students.

Postdoctoral Researcher

The Ohio State University
Ohio
08.2014 - 05.2020
  • Presented research findings at international conferences, fostering knowledge exchange among peers.
  • Contributed to high-impact publications by collaborating with fellow researchers and providing critical input.
  • Designed effective experimental controls, ensuring robust conclusions from research studies.

PHD Candidate

CERN
10.2011 - 07.2014
  • I led the analysis that searches for pair-produced heavy quarks. I generated the signal samples, performed the sensitivity studies, validation of background modeling, optimization of the signal-to-background ratio, and limit calculation. For modeling the main background, W+jets, I considered several different generators and chose the generator that best modeled the kinematic distributions and also had sufficient statistics. We improved the previous limit on the mass of the new quark by 350 GeV by exploiting the boosted topology of the heavy quark decay.

Graduate Research Assistant

Iowa State University
08.2007 - 07.2014
  • Participated in regular meetings with project supervisors, providing progress updates and discussing potential challenges or areas for improvement.
  • Completed administrative and research duties per professor request.

Graduate Research Assistant

Brookhaven National Laboratory
04.2011 - 10.2011
  • I contributed to the validation of jet energy calibration by using pT of tracks. My specific task included checking pT balance between jet(s) and Z boson in the Z+jets sample in bins of Z pT and jet multiplicity.

Research Assistant

Grinnell College
05.2004 - 08.2004
  • For undergraduate mentored advanced project, I synthesized and purified inter-metallic single crystals of Dysprosium di-germanide. I identified the crystalline structure using an X-ray diffractometer and indexing software. I also measured the anisotropic magnetic properties of the crystals using a Quantum Design Physical Properties Measurement System.
