I am a hardworking, motivated, and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Intern who is always striving to exceed expectations. I am used to working in a demanding and fast-paced environment, especially when dealing with multiple key priorities at the same time. In my current role, I have resolved over 100 issues while always keeping the needs of the vendors and the organization's reputation in mind. I've handled vendor inquiries and complaints in person, over the phone, and via email. I am also a tech enthusiast with a strong desire to keep up with rapidly changing technology in order to benefit the people with whom I work and collaborate.
Currently working as an Accounts Payable Intern at KONE East Africa with the following key roles assigned to me;
1. Actively involved in the Supplier Accounts Reconciliation for both Kenya and Uganda with an additional role of cleaning up the accounts since system change from Sage to SAP.
2. Responsible for bank monitoring at a daily and monthly basis for both Kenya and Uganda to ensure there's full visibility of all debits going out of the bank.
3. Pioneering the KRA VAT Inconsistencies follow ups for both Vendors and Customers. This involves actively sending emails and to vendors and customers to amend their VAT submission to KRA in the case of their error.
4. Responsible for timely customs payments via the KONE Process Management tool.
5. Actively assisting in the balance sheet reconciliation process at a monthly interval by doing set ups of the balance sheets items.
6. Compiling the workings of withholding VAT on a monthly basis and ensuring timely payments are done to KRA by or before the 20th of every month.
7. Processing of any manual payments on KONE Process Management tool.
8. Sending supplier remittances advice to confirm payments with invoices paid.
9. Responsible for handling vendors queries and follow ups relating to payments and invoice discrepancies.
10. Any other tasks delegated to me by the Financial Controller and the Finance Director.
As a part of completion of my degree program at KCA University I was attached at Kenya Forest Service where I was taught and mentored on the following roles;
1. Matching invoices with local purchase orders and goods received notes.
2. Processing of direct payments in the Oracle Financial System.
3. Raising payment vouchers and recording them in the payment voucher movement register to circulate to other departments for signing.
4. Surrender of imprest warrants in the Oracle financial system and raising surrender vouchers. Ensuring the same has been signed accordingly.
5. Data entry for payroll processing with Oracle financial
systems.
6. Payment of Employees deductions-NHIF, NSSF, PAYE, Bank Loans and SACCO deductions.
7. Preparation of Imprest and processing of Daily Subsistence Allowance claims.
8. Encumbrance of Funds.
Worked as an enumerator during the Kenya National
Census conducted from the night of 24th/ 25th August
2019 to 31st August 2019. In Baptist Village,
Kariobangi Sub-Location, Kariobangi North Location,
Embakasi North Subcounty, Nairobi County With the
following roles;
1. Identifying boundaries for the enumeration area (EAs), locating all structures and visiting every household to list all the usual members in the EA assigned to them before the enumeration exercise
2. Ensuring that all the necessary equipment/materials to be used for enumeration are available to them before the exercise commences.
3. Administering all questions and recording responses on all persons who spent the night of 24 th /25 th August 2019 in each of the household in the assigned Enumeration Area.
4. Obtaining complete and Accurate answers capturing them correctly during the enumeration exercise.
5. Forwarding all equipment and questionnaires (used and unused) maps, notebooks and other material as directed by the content supervisor after the enumeration exercise.
Worked as a clerk during the general and the repeat general elections at Embakasi North Constituency with the following roles;
1. Search the voter in the Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS)
2. Ensuring smooth flow of voters at the polling station, identifying voters.
3. Preparation and arranging of polling/ counting room.
4. Assist the PO/DPO to stamp and issue ballot papers to identified voters.
5. Assist the PO/DPO in sorting and counting ballots.
