Summary

Passionate Associate Professor with over 15 years of experience administering education and classroom procedures both autonomously and in collaboration with department faculty and leaders. Building foundations for next generation of academics and workforce pioneers. My research covers the application of electronics and power electronics in power delivery, especially, the microgrid/smart grids application. It includes a fundamental investigation into alternative control strategies of DC/AC inverters in a microgrid by the methodology of modelling, simulation and practical implementation dealing with microcontrollers/DSPs, sensors, control algorithms, real time systems, rapid prototyping systems (dSPACE, OPAL RT) and programming. I collaborated on research projects worth over £1 million for Smart Grids and power electronics applications.

Lecturer

Sheffield Hallam University
09.2016 - 09.2017
  • I am doing teaching, supervising projects and supporting students in the Electrical and Electronic Department

Associate Research Fellow

University of Exeter
10.2014 - 09.2016
  • I am working on the 'Reliable and Efficient System for Community Energy Solution- RESCUES' project that aims to develop an inverter-based AC microgrid
  • My research covers the application of the microgrid and includes fundamental investigation into alternative control strategies of DC/AC inverters in a microgrid by the methodology of modeling, simulation and practical implementation
  • The outcomes of the research increase the function reliability of paralleled DC/AC inverters in both grid connected and island modes of operation in terms of stability, power sharing and management
  • The role includes also building a microgrid experimental setup in the university lab based on dSpace1007 controller to control four parallel inverters modules
