  • Company Overview: Kenya Red Cross Society, through a humanitarian organization, owns a group of for-profit companies that contribute to the funding of its projects and activities across the country. The companies include Switch Media, The Boma Group of Hotels, Boma International Hospitality College, E-plus Ambulances, International Centre for Humanitarian Affairs, The Global Fund Kenyan Chapter, etc.
  • I was in charge of all Software Development Activities at the group. I oversaw user requirement gathering, System Design and Development, Implementation, and Support within the different companies.
  • Other responsibilities included managing the main ERP and supporting applications for Effort Reporting (Timesheets), Monitoring and Evaluation Field data collection tools, source-to-pay automation of procurement processes, leave management, and recruitment among others; all integrated into one end user-facing solution.
  • I also led the design, development, and implementation of the Digital Strategy within Switch TV where we became the first local TV station to internally develop and launch a Video on Demand/Over The Top (VOD/OTT) platform that runs on the Web, Android, Android TV, and iOS under the slogan Anytime, Anywhere across all devices.
