Dr. Atela is a career teacher/trainer with strong national interdisciplinary research and work experience. His interests and experience include psychometrics, research, strategic management and leadership especially with the inter-linkages between emerging and re-emerging issues in education and psychological wellness. Richard has held positions as class teacher, head of department, career master, student counselor, senior master and deputy principal under the Teachers Service Commission, Kenya. He has provided courses in educational psychology, counseling, early childhood development education, Geography and History at post primary and tertiary levels in Kenya besides providing experiential team leadership and wellness training. He holds graduate degrees from the Kenyan prestigious universities such as Kenyatta University, Egerton University and Maseno University. He has specialist training in human capital management, strategic leadership, corporate governance, e-learning management systems, and HIV testing and counseling. His career aspiration is to be a strategic governance leader, researcher, academic mentor and a career counseling service provider.
