- The department caters for different types of patients which include medical, surgical and trauma patients including referrals from different hospitals within the locality and neighboring counties
- General duties:
- Drug administration which includes intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, oral, topical and nebulization
- Stabilizing patients collecting samples for lab works, assisting in airway management and emergency care of different casualties
- Receiving patient’s reports and handing-over reports at the end of a shift so as to ensure that there is continuity of care
- Performing neurovascular exam to patients on traction and fractures in general
- Monitoring patient’s progress and giving reports to doctors and other health-workers participating in care of patients
- Initiating blood transfusion and monitoring
- Nasal gastric tube insertion and feeding
