As a Game of Learners Ambassador, I am responsible for assisting in organizing student programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the Africa Development Center. This involves executing activities that support the strategic direction of the Game of Learners program. I work closely with the Student & Community Engagements Team to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.
I am the establishing(first) lead at the Technical University of Kenya. Currently I am managing a total of 150 community members. As a GDSC Lead I am responsible for:
1. Creating a strong technical community in my campus.
2. Conducting regular workshops or meetups related to computer programming and software engineering.
3. Empowering more students to become trainers and support them in conducting sessions.
4. Identify local partners to work with and lead project building activities.
By the end of February 2022 I have managed to host a total of 22 sessions and events to help learners improve, learn more and grow on areas like Android , Web and Career Development, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Google Cloud Platform.
As a ML Student Ambassador I am in charge of leading the tech community in my school by organising and holding events that are geared towards enhancing the students' experiences in tech. I help them to learn and grow in their preferred tech tracks.
As a Student Ambassador I have been able to:
1. Host an event to guide learners on how to get started with Azure DevOps and GitHub.
2. Coach Students in the 2021 K12 Hack fest organized by the Microsoft ADC. I took them through
problem definition, ideation and website development process in order to come up with a solution
on the current Global Warming problem.
3. Participated as a mentor in the 2021 MLSA Mentoring Program where I mentor 2 female tech
enthusiasts.
4. Mentored participants in the October 2021 DubHacks Hackathon where I represented the
Microsoft Organisation and helped them through technical problems on Azure App Services and
Azure Static Web Apps
5. Was part of the team that organized the Microsoft Student Summit Africa which saw 2000+ registrations and over 300 attendees.
- I was a speaker in the Identity and Security track where I gave a talk on Azure Multi-Factor Authentication
6. Have been part of 2 Learning Series; AZURE LABS and AZURE SERIES.
