• I manage the climate change adaptation and support disaster risk reduction portfolio of the IFRC Africa Region
• This includes overseeing and coordinating the Disaster Risk Reduction, Urban Risk Management, Forecast-based Action and Anticipatory Action, and Nature based Solutions technical coordination teams of the IFRC in 38 countries in Africa, and ensuring effective technical support to IFRC Africa Country Cluster Delegations and Africa National Societies teams with strong linkages to the IFRC Global Agenda on Climate and environment to respond to a Triple Planetary Crisis
• Proudly, on behalf of the IFRC African Region, I am retained as the Africa Region focal point for EW4All, an initiative where IFRC is the Global Lead of Pillar 4 on “Preparedness to respond to warnings” announced by the UN SG on “new action to ensure that every person on earth is protected by early warning systems within five years” (2023-2027)
• My roles cover Africa Region supporting IFRC 15 (38 countries) Country Cluster Delegations, providing overall coordination and management of the IFRC Africa climate change adaptation and EW4All programming portfolio responsible and accountable and effective implementation linking to countries strategic development priorities and economic impacts and contributing to an effective, high quality IFRC team
• Key Achievement
• Led the regional and UN Agencies including the UN preparedness of EW4All Launch in Chad and Water@Heart Programme in Kigali Rwanda
• Support the GCRP in mobilizing USAID Global support for LLA in Africa Region
• Expanded from 2 initial countries to 5 with possibility of 2 more
• As part of IFRC High Level Delegation, I participated in the Ninth Session of the Africa Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction and Eighth High-Level Meeting on Disaster Risk Reduction in Windhoek, Namibia that produced the Africa Windhoek declaration on DRR
• This included my participation in panel discussions and open forums together ministers and heads of delegations responsible for disaster risk reduction in Africa to consider and adopt the outcome of AfRP-9
• Gambia: Supported and facilitate the development of the Climate Screening, Climate Risk Assessment and Multi Year Climate Strategy for Gambia Redcross Society, linking to the country development and economic priorities
• Malawi: in collaboration with the Redcross and Redcrescent Climate Centre reviewed and trained Malawi Redcross society National Technical Working group on Climate Change Adaptation and EW4All on enhanced Vulnerability Capacity Assessment; supported the Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA) Study Malawi
• Nigeria: led and facilitated the development of the Climate Screening, Climate Risk Assessment and Multi Year Climate and Environment Strategy for Nigeria Redcross Society linking to the country strategic development and economic impacts and global positioning on Nature Base Solutions
• Ghana: Multiyear climate strategy, Climate Risk Assessment, and Climate screening including selection of priority areas in the country
• Liberia: Supported the National society in the establishment of the Climate action Journey mechanism including preparedness for Early Warning for All under Pillar 4 of the UN EW4Aall led by UNSG
• Djibouti: Recruited and supervised an external consultant for support the climate action journey for the National Society
• Niger: IFRC as trusted impartial partner, in collaboration with WMO, UNDRR, led and supported the Government of Niger through its national meteorological department, in preparation and launch of the Early Warning Roadmap for Niger
• Madagascar: Reviewed and facilitated the validation of the National Climate strategy for Malagasy Redcross including their resources mobilisation strategy linking it to the blue economy strategy for the small islands
• Offering support to the operations team at the global and regional level, linking MPOX response to climate resilience in Nigeria, Burundi and Congo among the 13 MPOX affected countries in West Africa
• Successful pipeline resources mobilisation through GCF partnership for Togo, Chad, and Djibouti
• Enhanced regional co-operation/partnerships on climate change with UNDRR and UNDP with more in pipeline
• Contributed to the expansion of EW4ALL initiatives in the region by nearly all the cluster countries in line with their priorities
• With resource mobilised from Irish government, leading the Climate Action Journey in Africa Region with piloting ongoing in Liberia and Djibouti national societies
• High level launch of the locally Led Action programming in Gambia presided by the Vice President of the Republic of Gambia

• Designed, Assessed and Focal point for the Multi Country Blue Economy programme between Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique though the support of SIDA lead by FAO regional office and UNEP (Nairobi Convectional Centre)
• Status; Project successfully launched on Maputo February 2023
• Planning, managing and following up on Swedish-funded contributions in Environment and Climate change by appraising and approving funding applications including budgets, preparing decisions, contracts and agreements; and reviewing and approving narrative, financial and audit reports
• Design of concepts to guide discussions on funding priorities in line with the Swedish Development Cooperation in Kenya in areas such as Environment and Natural Resource Management including biodiversity, Renewable Energy, Circular and Blue economy, and Green jobs
• Ensuring integration of environment and climate issues into programmes and projects funded by Sweden for Kenya
• Contribute to identifying and developing synergies between the various focus areas of the development cooperation strategy by ensuring integration of environment and climate issues in the focus areas

• Co-partnership with USIAD Kenya/East Africa for co-funding on conservation, and carbon framework in Kenya- lauded a first in Africa
• Co-leading, with USAID (Director for Environment office in Kenya/EA) the development of Carbon framework in Kenya, a request by the GoK to both Sida and USAID
• This will be key announcable during the Africa Climate Summit 4-6 September 2023; This will include Activation of the Carbon Market Initiative (ACMI) and the enactment of the revised Climate Change Act (Revised) 2016
• Designed a multi-year contribution on Enhancing Biodiversity Conservation in Southern Landscapes of Kenya
• Managing 5-year Multi Country Blue Economy project for Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania 200MSEK led by FAO Regional Office in Maputo and UNEP

• Key roles and achievements so far:
• Supported, developed and delivered mechanisms to enable Kenya to reach its overall REDD+ goal to improve livelihoods and wellbeing, conserve biodiversity, contribute to the national aspiration of attaining a minimum 10% forest cover and mitigate climate change for sustainable development
• This was achieved through evident key outcomes:
• Provided leadership in implementation of stakeholder engagement activities in the FCPF- REDD National Programme in Kenya
• Provided authoritative guidance on coordination processes to national team, institutional partners, and stakeholders
• Supported knowledge generation and sharing events on stakeholder engagement
• Supported the development, review and validation of an operational National REDD+ Strategy and investment plan
• Supported the development, review and validation of an operational Safeguards Information System (SIS) for REDD+; that also delivered the Country Approach to Safeguards on how Kenya is addressing and respecting the Cancun safeguards
• Technical lead to review and update Kenya Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) on REDD+
• Technical lead to review and update Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) on REDD+

• Indigenous Livelihoods Enhancement Partners (ILEPA) is a non-for-profit non-governmental organization serving amongst the Indigenous Peoples in Kenya to address environmental, social and development issues
• ILEPA is actively participating in national REDD+ discourse and development, and international processes including the UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COPs), Green Climate Fund among others
• Achievement:
• ILEPA/KENYA was researcher on “Towards more inclusive, cooperative and participative climate change (TICCI) interventions in Kenya, Ghana and Burkina Faso” in collaboration with Utrecht University, Poland
• Analysis of Climate Change-Related Policies, Strategies, Legal Frameworks in Kenya, Feb 2014

• NoKET)- Ministry of Development for Northern Kenya and other Arid Lands, , Reporting to the Permanent Secretary
• The Northern Kenya Education Trust (NoKET) supports access to quality education for students from arid and pastoralist counties of Kenya
• As a Fund under the affirmative action of the Ministry of Development of Northern Kenya and other Arid Lands, the fund focused on Access to Education to the less privileges targeting 23 arid and semi-arid counties
• NoKET mobilizes financial and technical resources to promote quality education in arid and nomadic counties
• Key achievements during my tenure:
• Implemented NoKET's strategic plan, guided its strategic direction, and offered leadership all its activities implementations
• Ensured overall prudent management of the Trust funds
• Serviced the Board of Trustees
• Formulated and reviewed policies and procedures for the identification and selection of beneficiaries as approved by the Board of Trustees
• Developed and implemented a fundraising and resource mobilization strategy
• Raised the income from Ksh 220,000 To Ksh 250million within 1 year
• Expanded the student beneficiary base from 40 to over 500
• Facilitated linkages and partnerships with relevant institutions and individuals to create awareness of, and support for, NoKET
• Established and operationalized the NoKET USA Chapter in Minneapolis Minnesota
• Established and operationalized for data management and information system dissemination, including a database of NoKET beneficiaries

- Participated in proposal development and decision-making processes. Review and provide technical input into the development of log frames/results frameworks an M&E plans for proposal and integrating M&E into projects Development and design.

- In conjunction with project managers, lead the design and implementation of projects specific M&E systems and corresponding monitoring tools. Support the country office to develop appropriate indicators and benchmark for M&E throughout the project cycle

- Oversaw development, systematic and realistic monitoring plans that capture quantitative and qualitative data and establish processes to ensure functional and timely information collection, processing, analysis, and input into management decision making and reporting

- Provided specific technical assistance as needed by programming areas, implements M&E related activities, and develop M&E tools
