The Foodscape Program Director works closely with the TNC's Africa Agriculture Program, the Global Provide Food and Water team, the Kenya Country programme, the Kenya Project Finance for Permanence Team, the Northern Kenya program, the Freshwater team, the Indigenous People and Local Communities team, the CHEF Steering Committee, and the Africa leadership team to align to the TNC Kenya Conservation Strategy.
Provide oversight of all Kenya's Central Highlands Ecoregion Foodscape (CHEF) program to ensure that the initiative is successfully implemented; responsible for coordinating, implementing, and overseeing all CHEF operations.
Work closely with the TNC Global teams on climate and finance, among others, and collaborating with government agencies, conservation organizations, foundations, communities, and other stakeholders.
Lead the successful implementation of the operations and initiatives under CHEF to obtain the program's planned results.
Oversee the establishment of the Foodscape Innovation Hub.
Supervise and coach CHEF staff and consultants and oversee/ensure integration of all the technical work.

As the Programme Management Specialist (Trade), I was responsible for the design, development and management of USAID/KEA trade sector plans and programs to support trade expansion within Kenya and East Africa, and between Kenya and the United States as envisioned in the U.S. Trade Africa Initiative.
Project management and project monitoring for USAID grants – worked with the implementing partners to ensure projects were well aligned to USG policies.
Worked with other Activity Managers/AOR/CORs in the management, coordination, and monitoring of the trade aspects of the USAID/KEA’s “Feed the Future” portfolio; responsible for interpreting, explaining, and clarifying U.S. Mission policies, programs, and strategies in the trade sector.
Trade Sector Strategic Planning and Program Design – provided technical and managerial support to the conceptualization, planning, implementation, and monitoring of components of the overall trade development strategy. To achieve this, I coordinated the involvement of key partners and stakeholders (including GOK, the private sector, etc.) to identify components of effective trade promotion strategies, proposals for new activities, and determinations of achievable results that will serve to improve the economic condition in Kenya and the region.
Trade Policy, Technical Lead, and Representation – as the Regional Trade Advisor, I served as the Mission trade expert and point of contact; I was responsible for knowledge management and reporting on Trade Africa implementation.

As the Programme Officer in the Inclusive Economic Growth Unit, I was responsible for the management of 3 programmes that promote sustainable inclusive growth in Kenya – Economic Empowerment, the Extractives and the Environmental Governance.

Chief Economist / WTO Desk Officer

This role was the lead Natural Resource Economist and Economic Advisor to the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) leadership and senior Management. NEMA is the the principal instrument of the Government of Kenya for the implementation of all policies relating to environment.
Coordinated the identification and valuation of critical natural resources in Kenya and further incorporated these into the National Economic Survey and State of the Environment Reports
Developed project proposals for funding to major donors, these included Natural Resource Management (NRM), Global Environment Facility (GEF), Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES), and Environmental Deposit Bonds, among others.
Developed and implemented various economic instruments to enhance environmental management in Kenya, including deposit bonds and payment for ecosystem services.
As the WTO Desk Officer, I took charge of all matters that pertain to international and regional trade, trade policies and as they relate to the environment, chairing the WTO sub-committee on Trade and Environment, and representing Kenya in trade negotiations with WTO and EAC
Research and Publication – as the economist and researcher, I was involved in several scientific research work (data collection, analysis, and publishing), including developing scientific publications for the Government of Kenya.
National Economic Development Coordinator

As the National Economic Development Coordinator, I provided quality control, technical support, and coordination of the Economic Development sector of World Vision Kenya.
Provided technical support to the Area Development Programmes (ADPs), across the World Vison Kenya Country Office, to develop sustainable Economic Development projects.
