CLINICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Appropriately diagnosed and treated low risk, high risk obstetrics and gynecological patients.
  • Managed and delivered 200 births per year
  • Delivered evidence based obstetric and gynecology care to 15-20 patients daily in office.
  • Performed both minimally invasive and open surgical procedures as needed.
  • Admitted and treated patients as part of the hospital’s 24-hour on-call services at the Aga Khan University Hospital
  • Improved quality of patient care as Section Head gynaecology and as a member of the Departmental Quality Improvement Committee.
  • Developed a cervical cancer prevention program at the hospital to improve rates of cervical cancer screening (the leading cause of cancer mortality in Kenya)
  • Reduced the clinic no show rate from a high of to 44% to 26.7% over the course of 2018

  • Full Time Faculty 2009 to present: Supervision, teaching and examination of Aga Khan University Hospital residents in obstetrics and gynaecology, family medicine residents, interns and visiting medical students.
  • Module coordinator 2010-2014: Responsible for developing the genitourinary curriculum for years 3 and 4 for the undergraduate curriculum. Development of year 5 and 6 clinical obstetrics and gynaecology curriculum

  • Participating in public lectures, Television interviews, Writing of informative Ob/GYN related articles in magazine and newspaper articles. Participation in free medical camps.
  • Actively involved in OB/GYN and Family Medicine Resident teaching, examination and supervision.
