I am a law student, disaster management and international relations graduate, aspiring journalist, writer, and storyteller passionate about telling impactful African stories. My interests span print, digital, and broadcast journalism, governance, diplomacy, international law, peacebuilding, humanitarian affairs, and public policy.
Born in Elgeyo-Marakwet in Kenya’s Rift Valley, I developed an interest in conflict, resilience, governance, and community life. My experiences have taken me to diverse and volatile environments, including Karamoja, Ethiopia, and Sudan, where I encountered communities navigating insecurity, humanitarian challenges, displacement, and social change. These experiences strengthened my commitment to documenting stories with accuracy, context, dignity, and a human perspective.
I have volunteered with Capital FM Uganda and Next Media Uganda, gaining exposure to professional media environments and strengthening my interest in journalism, communications, and storytelling. I have also been featured on DW’s 77 Percent, deepening my interest in international media and African youth narratives.
My background in disaster management and international relations enables me to approach stories through resilience, conflict, diplomacy, regional affairs, humanitarian action, and governance, while my legal studies are developing my understanding of constitutionalism, human rights, accountability, and international law.
I have volunteered with community-based organizations in Kenya and Uganda, engaging with grassroots communities and gaining firsthand appreciation of local perspectives and solutions. I aspire to become a versatile African journalist, writer, lawyer, and international affairs professional. I am eager to contribute to newsrooms, media organizations, research institutions, humanitarian organizations.
