  services Faraja offers, including emotional counseling, support groups,
  and access to cancer treatment facilities.
  • Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk: Assisted in organizing and
  facilitating the annual Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk, an event that
  saw over 500 participants each year. Contributed to raising awareness,
  fundraising, and mobilizing community support for pediatric cancer
  treatment and prevention.
  • Art, Play, and Music Therapy at Kenyatta National Hospital
  (KNH): Volunteered at KNH, providing therapeutic art, play, and music
  therapy to over 50 children undergoing cancer treatment. Used creative
  therapy techniques to help children cope with emotional and
  psychological challenges, fostering a sense of joy and self-expression
  during their difficult treatment journeys.
  • Guest Speaker Facilitation for Support Group Meetings:
  Facilitated and introduced guest speakers during Faraja's weekly
  support group meetings, where over 30 patients and caregivers
  gathered each week. Coordinated with healthcare professionals,
  motivational speakers, and other experts to offer valuable insights into
  coping with cancer, mental health, and the importance of emotional
  well-being.
  • Emotional and Psychological Support: Provided emotional
  support to over 100 cancer patients, listening to their concerns, fears,
  and hopes, and offering resources to help them navigate their treatment
  journey. Offered guidance to patients on how to manage the
  psychological stress that comes with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: Worked alongside
  a dedicated team of counselors, doctors, and social workers to ensure
  patients had access to a wide range of services, improving their quality
  of life and care during treatment.
  

• Assisting in the Annual BGolf Tournament (October): Played an
active role in organizing and assisting with the annual BGolf
tournament, which raised over Ksh 1,200,000 in funds for breast cancer
treatment and awareness programs. Worked with a team of volunteers
to coordinate event logistics, participant registrations, and fundraising
activities, contributing to the event's overall success and awareness
efforts.
• Medical Camp Support – Nyamira and Other Counties: Assisted
in the intake process for over 500 women across various counties,
including Nyamira, who participated in free breast cancer screening
services. Ensured smooth patient registration, data entry, and
coordinated with healthcare professionals to facilitate screenings and
consultations.
• Screening Awareness and Education: Worked with the medical
team to provide educational materials to over 1,000 women, explaining
the importance of regular screenings, early detection, and available
treatment options. Contributed to raising awareness of breast cancer
prevention in underserved rural communities.
• Participating in Awareness Walks: Assisted in organizing and
participating in 2 annual awareness walks aimed at raising awareness
about breast cancer prevention and early detection. These walks
brought together over 1,500 participants each year, helping spread the
message about the importance of cancer screening and early
intervention.
• Fundraising and Advocacy: Collaborated with the fundraising
team to promote events and raise additional funds through local
donations and partnerships, helping further the mission of
Women4Cancer.
• Patient Support and Counseling: Provided emotional and
logistical support to over 200 women during medical camps and events,
offering information on treatment options, follow-up care, and
resources available for cancer patients and their families.
