ROTATIONS:

1.Internal Medicine

• Independently took medical histories, conducted physical exams, and presented cases on daily rounds.
• Assisted in the management of chronic and acute cases, including diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, and sepsis.
• Performed and interpreted ECGs, blood glucose monitoring, and fluid/electrolyte management.

2. Surgery

• Assisted in minor surgical procedures, pre-op and post-op care; wound suturing, abscess drainage, catheterization, and dressing changes.
• Scrubbed in as first or second assistant in elective and emergency surgeries.
• Managed surgical inpatients, including charting vitals, managing IV fluids, and writing progress notes.

3. Pediatrics

• Administered routine vaccinations and developmental milestone assessments.
• Supported pediatric emergency resuscitation and helped stabilize acutely ill children.
• Participated in health talks and mother education sessions in outpatient clinics.

4. Obstetrics & Gynecology

• Assisted in vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections under supervision.
• Conducted antenatal and postnatal assessments, and followed up on high-risk pregnancies.
• Gained experience in family planning counseling and cervical cancer screening clinics.
• Managed obstetric emergencies such as eclampsia and postpartum hemorrhage.

5. Emergency Medicine

• Triage, basic life support, and trauma response.
• Performed CPR, inserted IV lines, and assisted with intubations.

6. Community Medicine

• Participated in rural health outreach programs and community clinics.
• Conducted health education on sanitation, infectious disease prevention, and maternal-child health.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

• .Shadowed consultants and doctors in specialized units (e.g., cardiology, dermatology, oncology).
• Took patient histories and performed physical exams under supervision.
• Participated in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Observed or assisted in procedures/ surgeries, such as caesarean sections, hernia repair, hysterectomy, myomectomy and laparotomy.
