Here, I undertake the following key responsibilities:

• Assist with engineering calculations, design drawings, preliminary cost estimates and field visits/surveys to observe maintenance works progress at VIVO Energy, OLA Energy and TOTAL PLC oil depots/terminals.
• Ensure safety procedures are adhered to during job execution.
• Keeping records on equipment serviceability.
• Assist technicians to carry out various fabrications at the workshop.
• Provide assistance to all mechanical engineering, design and fabrication projects with acute sense of team needs and flexibility to support different aspects of design process.
• Materials and spare parts purchasing from different suppliers.

I gained the following skills at the FORD workshop:

• Engine and gearbox overhaul.
• Steering overhaul.
• Fuel system.
• Tyre and suspension overhaul.
• Braking system, disc replacement and drums overhaul/replacement.
• Pre-delivery inspection of new units.
• Lubrication system.
• Cooling system.
• Performed diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures to find and identify root causes of mechanical issues.
• Inspected and tested vehicles and completed preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations, wheel balancing and filter replacement.

I was involved in mechanical engineering maintenance practices in the following areas:

• Ship to shore gantry cranes .
• Rail mounted gantry cranes.
• Rubber tyred gantry cranes.
• Mobile plant.
• Shift.
• Spreaders.
• Workshop Technology.

Here I gained the following skills:

• Engine servicing and overhaul for heavy and light commercial vehicles including earth moving plants.
• Final drive and transmission repairs and maintenance.
• Repair of braking, suspension and steering systems.
• Engine diagnostics, fuel injection and mechatronics.
• Auto electrical diagnostics for light, heavy commercial vehicles and earth moving equipment.
• Demonstrated respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed.
