Work History

Exchange Program Participant

Arche Nova
Nairobi and Dresden, Kenya , Germany
10.2022 - Current

I am a participant in the Vijana na afya project which focuses on Kenyan and German multipliers who work with children and young people. Through the project I have the opportunity to gain insight into youth work in Kenya and Germany and to develop intercultural skills through meeting participants from the both countries and sitting in on youth work in Germany. In addition, the focus of the exchange is on getting to know and dealing with the 17 sustainability goals of the UN - especially goal number 3, health and well-being. In this way, the multipliers develop the ability and willingness to incorporate the topics of health and well-being as well as sustainable development into their work with children and young people in the long term. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Kenyan organization Kenyan Organization for Environmental Education (KOEE).

Additional Information

  • Thank you for taking your valuable time to go through my resume and getting to know me. In addition to my previously mentioned interests, I really love animals and would never miss an opportunity to volunteer or work with individuals/organizations who specialize in animal care. I am particularly moved by the field of environmental ethics that presents the argument that animals are sentient and deserve to enjoy this planet as much as we humans do. Additionally, I am really inspired by the works of David Attenborough who in my opinion is one of the greatest naturalist the world has ever known.

Reading

I have a great reading ethic especially on self help, sustainabillity, nature and autobiographies. My favourite book is

Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time by Brian Tracy. It helped me overcome procrastination and be more productive.
