4. Policy & Knowledge Development

• Contributed to the review of key program documents (Program Operation Manual, County Water and Sanitation Strategy and Implementation Plans ,Verification Protocol, Program Results Monitoring Report), strengthening the sanitation component of K-WASH.

Key Achievements

• Strengthened the sanitation reporting framework under K-WASH by developing and standardizing tools used by counties and feeding into Independent Verification Agency processes.
• Played a central role in coordinating the Sanitation PMU team, enhancing efficiency, collaboration, and delivery of sanitation activities.

• Led household sanitation monitoring, data analysis, and reporting through RTMIS at both national and county levels.
• Produced monthly sanitation activity reports (urban and rural) and WASH Emergency Session Reports for decision-making.
• Generated technical reports with comparative analysis, projections, and forecasting to support strategic planning.

2. Coordination & Sector Engagement

• Served as focal person at MoWSI for sanitation, linking processes across ministries, agencies, and WASH sector partners.
• Supported the establishment and running of the MoWSI Sanitation and Hygiene Hub, strengthening knowledge sharing, coordination, and sector learning
• Led coordination of the Urban Sanitation Technical Working Group (TWG) and the Joint Sector Review (JSR) platform, ensuring alignment of partner efforts with national priorities.
• Supported the WASH Sector Emergency Coordination Platform, including planning and convening monthly meetings, documenting action points, and ensuring timely reporting through the 5W matrix.
• Liaised with NDMA for drought situation updates, and collaborated with key MDAs such as Ministry of Health for cholera updates and response coordination.
• Acted as WASH Accounts focal person, supporting tracking of financial allocations and expenditures in the WASH sector.
• Strengthened inter-ministerial coordination and collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other line ministries.
• Represented MoWSI in high-level government forums (Sanitation and Water for All, NGOR, Kenya Sanitation Alliance ) to reinforce WASH policy and commitments.
• Participated in national and global advocacy events (World Water Day, MHM Day, Global Handwashing Day, World Toilet Day).

3. Technical Support & Capacity Building

• Provided technical support to counties in the implementation of WASH interventions.
• Supported urban sanitation interventions in partnership with Fresh Life, integrating inclusive, safe, and sustainable sanitation models into urban contexts.
• Planned and facilitated the Safely Managed Sanitation (SMS) Workshop, building technical capacity and advancing national dialogue on safely managed sanitation.
• Delivered trainings on RTMIS and CLTS to county staff and MoWSI officers.
• Supported reviews, missions, and capacity-building sessions, ensuring alignment of county actions with national program targets.

4. Policy & Knowledge Development

• Contributed to the development of key national WASH sector policies and strategies, including:
  Sessional Paper No. 7 on the National Sanitation Management Policy (NSMP)
  Safely Managed Onsite Sanitation Services (SMOSS) indicators
  ODF Roadmaps, Sanitation Profiles, and the Rural Sanitation Protocol
• Documented lessons learned, promoted knowledge sharing, and supported integration of climate resilience into WASH planning.

Key Achievements

• Enhanced visibility of MoWSI in the sanitation space through strong coordination and engagement with sector players at national and county levels.
• Appointed as DSM focal person for key portfolios, including Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) and WASH Accounts, demonstrating trust and leadership within the Ministry.
• Led the first DSM Sanitation and Hygiene campaign focused on manual pit emptiers in informal settlements, in partnership with WIWAS and with UNICEF support — promoting dignity, safety, and inclusion for a vulnerable group.
• Strengthened sector advocacy and collaboration platforms (Urban Sanitation TWG, JSR, WASH Emergency Coordination, Kenya Sanitation Alliance (KSA)), ensuring harmonized action among government, counties, and partners.
• Contributed to policy milestones, including the Sessional Paper No. 7 on National Sanitation Management Policy, Rural Sanitation Protocol Documents (RuSH Protocol) and SMOSS indicators, shaping Kenya’s sanitation policy, monitoring and sustainability frameworks.

• Supported monitoring and reporting of programme interventions through development of 20 technical reports.
• Established and maintained a database of all the villages and their CLTS status in the project area.
• Supported the project progress review processes through monthly and quarterly meeting as well as documentation of mid and end term goals scoring
• Administered over 150 questionnaires to ascertain the sanitation status on the target area during survey.
• Implemented MBS activities and sold up to 150 hand washing stations and 27 SAFI latrines.
• Facilitated behavior change communication activities through coordination with partners and other stakeholders.

• Named the Best Sales Representative of Safi latrine and portable hand washing stations.

• Participated in capacity building exercises on effective Triggering of communities to achieve ODF status of new villages.
