Strategic Sourcing for Projects- Sourcing, procuring and delivering construction materials for Centum Real Estates Projects including;

  • Two Rivers Mall- I was part of the lead team that managed the procurement of Two Rivers Mall construction materials (finishes) sourced from Europe, Asia, and local suppliers valued at over (USD 40) forty million US Dollars. My key role was to establish contacts with reliable suppliers and build a strong foundation for effective negotiations. These efforts led to timely delivery of quality materials and also contributed to savings of over (USD 800) eight hundred thousand US Dollars in the aspect of monetary savings, quality materials and timely delivery.
  • Centum Real Estate Residential Projects- I was also part of the lead team responsible for sourcing, procurement and delivery of construction materials especially finishes for Riverbank Apartments at Two Rivers in Nairobi, and Signature and Mirabella Villas at Pearl Marina in Uganda valued at over (USD 900) nine hundred thousand US Dollars and (USD 350) three hundred fifty, and fifty (USD 50) US Dollars respectively . My key role was to establish supplier contacts, lead in negotiations and oversee the logistics in delivering the material at all construction sites. The efforts led to cumulative savings of over (USD 350) three hundred thousand US Dollars for both residential projects.
  • Logistics Management- After supply contract awards, I was responsible for preparing and issuing purchase orders, coordinating import logistics at the country of origin for imported goods, coordinating shipping and custom clearance, coordinating delivery of the goods and offloading at respective sites, verifying the received goods to ensure compliance to specifications and quantities as per the purchase order and delivery note, signing off delivery notes and handing over the goods to the project teams for use, and organized for warehousing for goods meant for future use in the projects.
  • Analyst- As the secretary of the tender evaluation committee, it was my responsibility to conduct analysis for bids, proposals and quotations, document the results and prepare reports for sign off by the leadership.
  • Reporting- Prepared reports outlining sourcing and procurement processes employed in acquisition of goods and services and ensured all the processes were signed off by authorized personnel.
  • Compliance- As the custodian of the procurement policy, I ensured that all procurement activities were in line with the procurement policy and recommended changes to the company leadership to accommodate and adapt strategically to changing business environment.
  • Researcher. Researched market trends and best practices, and adapted procurement strategy to reflect changing business landscape.
  • Documentation. Documented all the procurement processes and activities, and ensured payments to suppliers and contractors were supported by relevant documents such as contracts, Purchase orders, delivery notes etc.

  • Teams coordinator. By utilizing the company's projects' management software, I was responsible for managing teams by ensuring all project communication and information sharing was centralized.   • Trainer. Trained and oriented new staff members. I was responsible for receiving, training and orienting new staff member on the company operations and ensuring they were well-equipped for their assignments.
  • Contract Administration. Accurately tracked all contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders to maintain project schedules and cost. This was to mitigate any variation to budget risks.
  • Projects Finance. I was responsible for receiving contractor's invoices, validating them for accuracy and deliverables and preparing payment requests for sign off by the Organization's leadership.
  • Travel- I assisted in coordinating executive staff travels which involved air tickets bookings, accommodation bookings, itinerary management and meeting coordination.
