  • Develop and maintain a long-term space rationalization and allocation strategy.
  • Support businesses in identifying premises required, and negotiate leases for the bank properties, both leased and owned. This includes carrying out rental assessments when required.
  • Measure and ascertain space for new bank outlets as per retail approvals, re-measurement, and evaluation of space occupied by the bank upon lease renewals to ascertain areas and establish the need for surrender where necessary.
  • Participate in Rent Negotiation Committee meetings for deliberations on rents.
  • Lease administration, and ensuring that all offer letters are drafted for new premises acquired.
  • Follow up on leases for registration and stamping coordination with various parties involved in the lease process, including landlords, advocates, and bank departments.
  • Management of bank-owned premises, monitoring rent payments, and ensuring that tenants have leases.
  • Payment processing for all statutory requirements for compliance, i.e. Land rates and rents for bank-owned property, business permits, fire certificates, wall branding, and signage licenses, banking, and hire purchase licenses.
  • Ensure these are renewed in a timely manner, and always valid.
  • Tender and negotiate service contracts on behalf of the bank.
  • Follow up on contract signing, and keep up-to-date records of contracts.
  • Ensure that records and correspondence in respect to contracts and leased premises are well-kept and retrieved as required.
  • Service contract administration and management: ensure coordination between service providers and the Bank (client) in the administration of contracts and agreements in the interest of the Bank, as per SLA.
