· Responsible for provision of actuarial support to a portfolio of more than 30 General Insurance clients across Africa.

· Supporting new business initiatives by pursuing and maintaining strategic partnerships that widen the current service offerings.

· Managing a team of associates in the delivery of Actuarial Consulting Services in a timely manner including workflow management

· Driving business growth by maintaining client relationships as well pitching new service offerings to new and existing clients.

· Oversee the development of the team into the emerging fields including IFRS 17, IFRS 9, reinsurance optimisation, use of proprietary software such as Prophet and Moody’s Risk Integrity IFRS 17 solution, data science and others new areas.

· Participate in thought leadership drives such as industry trainings on key changes in the insurance industry both from regulatory and reporting standards standpoint.

· Responsible for checking accuracy and completion of various actuarial projects according to the internally developed and generally accepted actuarial standards while ensuring compliance with all the prevailing jurisdictional regulations.

· Presenting Actuarial results to Management and Boards of insurance companies and recommending remediate actions where necessary

· Carrying out data checks and reconciliations for actuarial valuations.

· Assisting in statutory insurance Liability valuations and computing the Risk Based Solvency positions of insurance companies.

· Assisting in carrying out valuations of Defined Benefits (DB) Pension Schemes liabilities and calculating member benefits for DB Schemes.

· Assisting in supporting Business Development initiatives by preparing tenders and proposals required to pitch for a new service offering.

· Preparing presentations for communication of results of the valuations to the client.

· Manage and provide actuarial consultancy services to a part of the portfolio of clients in the General Insurance Consulting division.

· Oversee the training and development of Actuarial Analysts joining the team to ensure that their work complies to the internal processes and standards

· Reviewing and undertaking various actuarial projects including General Insurance Reserving and Capital Modelling, Pricing and Product Development, Asset Liability Management among others.

· Reviewing and assisting in management presentations of the results of various actuarial projects.

· Technical lead in special projects such as Reinsurance Optimisation and offering consulting in mergers and acquisitions for insurance companies.

· Taking ownership of research initiatives and participating in strategic projects that lead to the development of new service offerings.

· Supporting Business Development initiatives by identifying new business opportunities and preparing and/or reviewing tenders and proposals

· Assisting in debt collection through timely raising of invoices and debt collection while also escalating to senior management cases of potential bad debts.

· Preparing and taking part in industry trainings for existing and potential clients to build internal capacity which further aids in forging future business partnerships.

· Undertaking statutory insurance Liability valuations and computing the Risk Based Solvency positions of insurance companies

· Carrying out valuations of Defined Benefits Pension Schemes liabilities and calculating member benefits for DB schemes

· Preparing investment policy statements for Pension Schemes.

· Supporting business growth initiatives by preparing tenders and proposals required to pitch for a new service offering

Preparing presentations for communication of results of actuarial valuations to clients
