  • I am the regular presiding officer at meetings of the organization. At the annual meeting, I shall facilitate the discussion on setting the organization’s priorities with the executive committee.
  • I am the Kenyan National Representative to the International Youth Nuclear Congress (IYNC) Board of Directors.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

  • On June 14, 2025, I was one of the guests at Nova Pioneer Tatu City Girls' Careers Day. I presented to the students the different careers in the nuclear field and the various nuclear applications in Kenya and in the world.
  • I was part of the team that launched the first-ever Nuclear Club in Kenya at Nova Pioneer Tatu City Girls in 2024.

  • Implementation of identified nuclear energy research areas/programmes for safe application of nuclear technologies in improving productivity and quality of life in the country by:
  • Assisting in the identification of institutions/ development partners/ organizations and of programmes/projects to be implemented under collaboration framework in nuclear energy research and development;
  • Assisting in monitoring the implementation of Nuclear R&D coordination framework in the country;
  • Conducting research on complex social and technical issues pertaining to nuclear energy production such as nuclear safety, performance improvements, radioactive waste and spent fuel management, integration of nuclear power with variable renewable energy (VRE) sources, societal aspects (socio-economics and public perception) of nuclear energy systems;
  • Supporting implementation of plans for development and implementation of Kenya nuclear research reactor project (stakeholders/user-groups build-up, utilization, and business plans review; risk management; operation and maintenance; and decommissioning);
  • Participating in evaluation of nuclear energy research findings and other material for publication;
  • Analyzing relevant nuclear R&D tools, computer codes and models for projects implementation;
  • Adhering to guidelines to ensure that the safety, security and safeguards (3S) objectives are realized in operation/implementation of nuclear research projects and programmes;
  • Providing input in development of R&D competency framework for expertise in the field of nuclear science and related technologies;
  • Contributing to curation of data on nuclear research and maintenance of an up-to-date research database;
  • Assisting in the development of proposals on nuclear energy technologies for commercialization.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS

  • I am part of the AMPT for the Kenya Nuclear Research Reactor (KNRR) project, whose role is to study, develop, and promote the research reactor project.
  • I am actively involved in finalizing the feasibility study for the KNRR.
  • Currently, I am working on various technical studies involving the various utilizations of the KNRR.
  • I am leading the technical study on radioisotope production from research reactors.
  • Assisted in organizing the INIR-RR Mission from 11-19 December 2023 which was a success.
