Duties and Responsibilities

• Program Management
• Supporting JRC Kenya to identify, vet, and source potential implementing partners (IPs) across Kenya, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
• Contribute to the formulation of annual, operational projects and budgets that align with the global strategy, highlight JRC Kenya’s operations and impact, support fundraising, and contribute to priority policies and decision-makers' engagement.
• Monitoring and analyzing developments in the children sector, identifying and recommending strategic moments, alliances, and potential partners to contribute to priority policy and decision-makers' engagement, and amplify JRC Kenya’s strategic goals.
• Leading child rights legal work, including mainstreaming across key areas and providing technical input to the government on policies and legislation.
• Supporting partners during implementation by providing technical support, overseeing grant cycles, and learning, measuring, and evaluating systemic change strategies.
• Co-leading the implementation of advocacy strategies, including audience targeting, power mapping, tactical planning, and strategic outreach.

Tracking Impact

• Tracking, monitoring, and documenting impact by reviewing progress reports, conducting site visits, and supporting the implementation of learning, measurement, and evaluation frameworks.
• Facilitate the use of evidence-based insights to prepare and present detailed reports, dashboards, and shape strategic recommendations for program development and stakeholders.
• Facilitating learning and evaluation of systemic change strategies to support evidence-based decision-making, staying outcomes-focused, centering communities, while embracing diversity and fostering partnerships.

Communication and Stakeholders Engagement

• Translating complex ideas, like legal and policy language, into clear, practical, and actionable messages for diverse audiences—including staff, board members, implementing partners, and donors—by creating strategic materials such as core messages and fact sheets.
• Collaborating with the communications team to ensure these messages are adapted into compelling creative digital materials, including newsletters and social media posts, to keep stakeholders informed on the organization’s impact, challenges, and successes.
• Facilitating effective communication with partners to share progress, helping package progress/achievements in compelling formats tailored for diverse stakeholders.
• Planning and executing events such as program launches, roundtables, as well as organizing and coordinating site visits and learning journeys.
• Supporting the development and presentation of reports, presentations, and dashboards for meetings, including staff meetings, conferences, and parliamentary engagements, representing and demonstrating JRC Kenya’s impact.
• Assisting in building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including media, to promote collaboration for impact.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Leading and coordinating policy, research, legal, and advocacy efforts related to COVAW’s mandate, including contributing to the development of relevant policy and advocacy resources.
• Leading in the delivery of COVAW projects, ensuring adherence to proposals, budgets, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning frameworks, and donor requirements.
• Leading the implementation of COVAW's work with survivors of human rights violations and abuses, particularly gender-based violence, by building and following up on strategic litigation cases and enhancing the capacity of COVAW's pro-bono advocates and paralegals.
• Supporting the Program Manager in designing concept notes and proposals for fundraising.
• Creating and implementing corresponding advocacy strategies. This includes managing the Legal department and the pro-bono advocate scheme, ensuring timely case updates, and overseeing case management and client record management.
• Acting as COVAW's contact person with the community and other stakeholders, including representing COVAW in regional forums, relevant technical working groups, and meetings, as assigned.
• Monitoring and supporting partners, including community actors and paralegals, building their capacity through technical assistance in SGBV, referral mechanisms, and related legal processes to the COVAW target groups.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with government, justice actors, donors, and other relevant groups nationally and regionally, representing COVAW in key technical working groups.
• Preparing accurate and timely reports of program activities and expenditures.
• Ensuring that project monitoring is conducted diligently and qualitative and quantitative data management is done to ensure project learning.
• Establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally for increased collaboration opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Advising the Authority on all legal matters that may arise in its operations.
• Attending court to provide adequate legal representation of the Authority in civil matters and criminal court proceedings.
• Liaising with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution and other relevant state agencies on all legal matters affecting the Authority.
• Carrying out a comprehensive analysis of evidence, which includes the evaluation of evidence gathered in the course of investigations.
• Drawing and filling pleadings, submissions, and all other relevant court documents.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Gained practical experience in Human Rights enforcement through a collaborative fellowship, including court visits, community engagement, and simulated trials.
• Directly contributed to strategic litigation by working on a public interest litigation case on reproductive health rights, successfully petitioning the senate. Further supported strategic litigation efforts by liaising with KELIN's team to write submissions for constitutional petitions and communiques.
• Developed and executed community research plans, gathering data through meetings and interviews. Synthesized research findings into a high-quality article highlighting legal avenues for redress.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills by interpreting complex legislation, regulations, and guidelines. Supported the development and implementation of legal policies and strategies under the guidance of legal counsel.
• Liaised with KELIN's communication strategist to develop advocacy campaigns aimed at public engagement on project cases.

• Duties and Responsibilities
• Attending to assigned clients' cases by the Access to Justice team.
• Occasionally assisting the Access to Justice team on open clinic days, providing legal advice to clients.
• Employing mediation techniques to improve the level of communication between disputants and increase their understanding of each other's issues.
• Diligently investigating the needs and interests of each party, identifying their underlying concerns, and clarifying issues to improve the arbitration process.
• Evaluating the mediation outcome and making appropriate recommendations as necessary on the supplied form.
• Maintaining appropriate records and completing all required documentation within the stipulated time.
• Contributing towards the induction of new family mediators.
