JOHN NDUNGU KANGETHE

I am a retired naval sailor I did military training with KDF (NAVY) in 1987 and also served for 18 years and retired honourably. During the service, I served on Ashore and sea establishments. I rose to the Rank of Senior sergeant (chief petty officer) and was awarded the best electrician of the years, sixteen-year service and conduct award. During the service, I enrolled in a diploma programme in business management with Kenya Institute of management (KIM) and passed. I am currently working in insurance industry, with more than 18 years of experience working as a financial adviser for individuals. I have also worked as a sales manager, a regional manager, and an IFA (Old Mutual Independent consultant). While I was employed with Old Mutual, I received numerous honours both domestically and in Africa. I assist people in achieving their financial goals by helping them realise their potential. I gather appropriate data, analyse it, and draw informed conclusions through in-depth interviews with my clients and potential clients in order to provide them with informed plans based on their present situations and to evaluate those plans on an as-needed and periodic basis. As a result of my experience in the Navy, I have developed my ability to train, mentor, and develop human potential. I have a lot of expertise in managing risks and managing my personal finances. I am a team player, a leader, and a motivator. I hold a degree in strategic management and am pursuing an MBA while doing research. I am a certified mediator and chairman of the board of management of the Milele Beach Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya.

I am skilled in all military skills on safety and trained in marine electrical and ashore establishments I am also trained in firefighting, good in risk management, the sale of insurance, investments, and personal financial solutions, and I am seeking a position with a reputable organisation where I can contribute my talents and abilities in order to become a valued team member.
