Key responsibilities and Achievements;

1. Project County Liaison

  • I work closely with County/Sub-counties Health Management Teams in Work planning and Overseeing implementation of HIV/TB activities in the County. The activities comprise of:
  • Planning and Conducting joint support supervision and mentorship activities at the 22 LVCT Dhibiti supported facilities
  • Represented Dhibiti Project in the County stakeholder’s engagement fora and activities
  • Established effective relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally for increased collaboration opportunities.
  • Coordinating Project performance review meetings on a monthly basis in Liaison with SI/M&E officers
  • Reviewing and tracking project implementation and utilization of resources as per the budget lines, ensuring that there’s a Quarterly work plan that is adhered to.
  • Participating in the work planning process, ensuring that the activities align with the budget guidance and the COP targets.
  • Planning Monthly Performance Review meeting where technical officers and C/SCHMT team meet to review the performance and plan areas of actions.


2. Technical Officer- HIV Care and Treatment

  • Conducting mentorship and provide technical assistance to healthcare workers in management of HIV Clients right from Linkage to treatment after diagnosis, to been started on Antiretroviral treatment, retain to care and achievement of viral suppression.
  • At 83% of time My efforts have contributed to achieving 98% Tx Current and viral suppression of 96% FY 24/25 targets
  • I have supported Video DOTs efforts toward increasing Viral suppression among CALHIV
  • In Liaison with County teams, I have been Planning and executing capacity building activities for Health care workers such as training, CMEs and On Job training in line with current ART guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures
  • I offer mentorship to Healthcare Workers on NCD integration in Comprehensive Care Centres as we continue experiencing NCD among Clients Aging with HIV
  • Jointly with the County and Sub- County Health Management Teams, I conduct HIV care and treatment Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings on a Quarterly basis
  • Jointly with Project Health Information Systems and M&E team, I capacity build Healthcare workers on Kenya EMR utilization since all the supported facilities are utilizing Electronic Medical records
  • Planning and participating in Facility Multidisciplinary Team Meetings and case management Team meetings where we discuss the clients who are failing treatment and other difficult cases the Healthcare workers are handling
  • Supporting Healthcare workers develop quality improvement projects in indicators that are having gaps and monitor over for improvement.

Technical Officer – HIV Testing Services and Prevention, Nyeri County (November 2022 to May 2024)

Key responsibilities and Achievements;

  • I supported 28 LVCT Dhibiti supported facilities in Nyeri county working closely with C/ Sub- County Health Management team in supporting targeted and quality HIV testing and Prevention Services such as Safe Ethical Index testing
  • Organized capacity building activities for HTS counselors in Liaison with CASCO and SCASCOS. The HTS Providers were trained on HTS refresher curriculum, Social Network strategy, Safe Ethical Index testing and Utilization of EHTS Point of care
  • Supported the facilities to achieve 90% HIV identification against annual Targets with Proxy Linkage of 94 % as at SAPR (FY23/24). PrEP New achievement stood at 95% and PrEP Continuation 103% against targets at 75% of time.
  • Through my efforts in Liaison with Laboratory technical officer and Sub-counties Medical Lab Coordinators, All HTS providers participated in Proficiency testing and those with unsatisfactory results, CAPA was conducted
  • I planned and ensured Observed practice and Counsellor support supervision/ Debriefing sessions were conducted to all HTS providers
  • My efforts oversaw transition to eHTS point of care and where I trained and Mentored HTS providers on Machine learning utilization for targeted testing and linkage to prevention services.
  • I tracked on a weekly basis HIV testing and Prevention Indicators across the supported facilities and provided targeted mentorship

  • In this position, my deliverable entailed programming in HIV Testing services and Prevention such PrEP Scale Up activities, Gender Based Violence case identification and Linkage to Post Violence Care Services.
  • Also, as a Service Delivery Mentor (SDM) in Githunguri sub-county, I supported HIV/TB Service delivery across the entire HIV care cascade i.e. HTS, Adults, Pediatric and adolescent Care and treatment, Retention, PMTCT, and HIV/TB indicators. At the same time coordinating capacity building activities in all HIV program areas in collaboration with Kiambu County and Sub-County Health Management teams (C/SCHMTs).
  • I ensured 100% enrollment to Proficiency testing for HTS providers in the supported facilities and coordinate counselor supervision/ debriefing sessions, Observed Practice activities within the county
  • I organized HTS refresher trainings and sensitization meeting on targeted HIV testing where we projected rolled Social Network Strategy for General population as a way of increasing HIV identification

  • I was engaged on a Ten-Month temporary contract to coordinate Adolescent Sexual Reproductive health services within Gold star-supported informal sector private health facilities.
  • As ASRH Quality Assurance Officer and with experience in HIV programming, my role was to support quality assurance activities in Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health Service delivery and offer mentorship and technical in HIV Care and Treatment to Private healthcare facilities within Goldstar Network.

  • I offered mentorship and CME sessions to healthcare workers on the management of Key Population clients and worked closely with stakeholders in the county and sub-county health management teams during support supervision visits

  • To achieve first 95 in HIV cascade, I supported HTS counselors in implementation of Surge strategy on HIV identification and Linkage.
  • For 3rd 95 Overall viral load coverage and suppression stood at 89% and 93% respectively through my effort. I also strengthened retention to care by instituting defaulter tracing measures for missed appointments and lost to follow up clients
  • I developed Monthly and quarterly work plans and budgets on the activities to be undertaken in the supported facilities and participated in County/sub-county stakeholders fora.
  • Jointly with SCHMTs, we conducted Quarterly Supportive supervision visits to the sites. In the effort of health system strengthening and offering clinical support to healthcare workers Private sector was involved in Nairobi Regional Technical Working Group (TWG) meetings in regard to difficult case discussions
