  • Through this, we had a reach of over 120 students locally and up to 600 menstrual hygiene champions trained nationally through this program.

  • Association of Kenya (MSAKE), I proactively supervised a workshop on understanding reproductive health laws in Kenya, the social and cultural perspectives regarding abortion therefore fostering the student participants' ability to propagate their views
  • In addition, working closely with the Ministry of Health and Kiambu Level 5 District
  • Hospital, my expertise cultivated the success of the Intervasity Health Weeks whereby over 500 students locally at Kenyatta University were educated on family planning and over 50 females were provided with short and long term contraceptives such as pills and implants
  • This event also provided health screening on conditions such as breast cancer, cervical cancer screening and hypertension.

I acquired skills in documentation, interpretation and use of medical records. Gained an understanding of principles of ethical and responsible conduct of health research and how to conduct an inter-professional, multi-disciplinary mentored health research project.
  • Published a research article on the Knowledge, Attitude and Practices on Self-Care Diabetes among the Residents of Karatina.
