We initiated a productivity initiative which involved identification of any surplus project equipment in the network Data centres to be transferred to the spares warehouse to support the network during the financial year 2023 to 2024
As at 9/2/2024 we had identified 769 surplus Access Network project equipment’s, Transmission network project equipment & Core network project equipment's worth 4,551,646 USD at the Safaricom PLC Datacentres which were transferred to the Network Operation and maintenance Spares warehouse to support and maintain the network
This resulted in 4,551,646 USD worth of Network operations expenses (NOPEX) savings during the fiscal year 2023 to 2024
As the Capex warehouse Agile pop up squad we also managed to move aged network equipment’s worth 10,852,713 USD
From the Capex warehouse which we transferred to the Network spares warehouse to support the network
This resulted in Network operations expenses (NOPEX) savings of 10,852,713 USD during the fiscal year 2023 to 2024.
