I’m also a vice chairperson of Marwo. Marwo Women and Child Development Organization is a Somali NGO that is non-profit, non- governmental, and voluntary. It was established in 1992 in the Afgoi district of the Lower Shabelle region with the goal of providing humanitarian assistance to the Somali people. Its formation came at a time when Somalis were in total anarchy, with widespread starvation and civil strife, one of the worst in history. At that time, women suffered the most, being harassed, beaten, raped, and murdered. In light of this, it was necessary to establish this organization, with the goal of improving and developing all aspects of women's lives, such as education, economy, social security, and so on.
