Key Responsibility - Integration of mental health inpatient overall care and management

• Awarded Resolution Health Fund in Kigali, Rwanda, 2018
• Partnership with Into The Mwangaza project in proper integration of mental health in Asembo, Siaya County
• Mental health talks during The Children's Voices by TYSA, Kitale Kenya.
• Creation of the Cactus Mama Bridge-Me App, which is a safe platform where anyone can access evidence-based teletherapy, telepsychiatry, and education.

• Clerking patients, performing relevant investigations, diagnosis, treatment of patients, and follow-up of patients until the time of discharge.
• Documenting and updating patient files.
• Presentation of cases during CMEs and workshops.
• Performing surgical and gynecological procedures licensed by the medical board.
• Management of emergencies, including resuscitation, emergency procedures, diagnosis, and consultation in line with current standard guidelines.
• Appropriate consultation with senior Medical Officers and Consultants and multidisciplinary collaboration for excellent patient outcomes.

Achievements

• Reduction of maternal mortality cases within the hospital through implementation of current guidelines and training.
• Development of SOPCs within the newborn unit that helped reduce newborn mortality.

• I participated in the active management of Covid-19 patients
• Researched the uptake and challenges of implementing Universal Health Care (UHC) at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital as part of the student curriculum.
• Pediatric Management at Bungoma County Referral Hospital (BCRH)
• Management of preterm births while following the available protocols, which guaranteed increased survival rates
• Conducted research on demographics, prevalence and determinants of preterm births at Bungoma County and referral Hospital under the HEPI program

• Proposal development for various grants awarded to the organization worth over $10000 during my tenure.
• Creation of key strategic partnerships and advocacy initiatives with other organizations including but not limited to: Options UK, Dot Cup US, NCPD, KEWASNET, IPAS, PSI (PSK), Empower Her Foundation, Marakwet Girls Foundation, DKT International and County Government of Uasin- Gishu to facilitate in implementation of reproductive health projects.
• Creation of training support materials to support capacity building in gender mainstreaming at the county level.
• Participation in creating the Menstrual Hygiene Management Policy in Uasin Gishu County.
• Rallying of key policymakers at the county government level successfully leading to the setting up of youth-friendly centers in the county.
• Reached 4000 girls in the county through sanitary products provision, Menstrual Hygiene Management training, and Menstrual Pain Management sessions.
