SUPPORTED TWO PROJECTS: NUTRITION IMPROVEMENT THROUGH CASH TRANSFER AND HEALTH EDUCATION AND NUTRITION DROUGHT EMERGENCY RESPONCE PROJECT.

Here are some of the work i did:

  • Nutrition Education : Conducted workshops to educate mothers on maternal, infant and young child feeding nutrition in communities within seven subcounties in Turkana Region through NICHE project.
  • Nutrition and Health screening: Assisted with anthropometric and clinical assessments to identify individuals at risk for nutrition-related health issues like malnutrion (KWASHIOKOR,MARASMUS AND MICRONUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES).
  • Cooking demonstrations:Hosted cooking demonstrations to teach basic cooking skills, recipe modification for healthier options, and how to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into meals in the community level.
  • Data collection:Participated in data collection efforts through mass screening (This could involve measuring height, weight,Mid upper circumfrence (MUAC) and body mass index (BMI) in large numbers within the community to better understand the nutritional needs and challenges facing the community. This information helped inform future interventions and public health initiatives.
  • Did field monitoring on emergency program actitivities to ensure guidelines were followed on service delivery such updating of the OTP, SFP, CWC and SFP/PLW registers and also stocktaking of the nutrition commodities.
  • Prepared data collection and reporting tools.
  • Liased with government healthcare Professionals (Nurse incharge, Nutritionist and community health officers) in creating plans to execute nutrition emergency response activities and mobilization in the community level.
  • Acted as a team leader in group projects, delegating tasks and providing feedback.
  • Assisted with day-to-day operations, working efficiently and productively with all team members.
  • Facilitated community outreach to expand participation and support.
