• Have successfully managed to get 70% approvals of VAT refunds from Kenya Revenue Authority that had accumulated over the years from Vat paid on imported raw materials for manufacturing Agricultural Pesticides.
• Have managed to recover almost 90% in Tax overpayments from the old KRA tax system transferred and allocated in Itax. This will significantly help the company save money as future installment and income tax payments will be deducted from the recovered money.
• Have also made improvements to ensure compliance with tax laws by making the filing process more efficient, reducing almost 90 % of errors.
• Through tax research, identified opportunities for optimizing taxes leading to increased credits for the organization.

Achievements

• Oversaw two successful in-depth audits with the Kenya Revenue Authority that covered all aspects of tax issues covering periods between June 2010- May 2015 and June 2015-May 2020. As a result, I saved the company 90% of the additional assessments that the Authority had imposed.
• Was responsible for negotiating favorable payment plans with local and foreign suppliers that greatly improved the company's cash flow position.
• Successfully coordinated the year-end audit process with external auditors for 7 years.
• Collaborated with the CEO and senior management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts, contributing to improved financial planning.
• Oversaw the implementation of the Sage Evolution Accounting System that assisted in the timely processing of monthly and Annual Financial statements.
