Accomplishments

  • Design of Blended Wing-Body Electrical Vertical Take-off and Landing (BWB e-VTOL) UAV for Cargo Delivery: I mathematically modelled a BWB with 8 rotors for VTOL to determine the size, mass, component requirements, and materials to use. I then designed the CAD model and conducted CFD in SOLIDWORKS
  • Flying Wing Drone Prototype with Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) Capabilities for Remote Sensing (Work in Progress): I constructed a Drone prototype with a Flying Wing Aircraft Configuration using Foam material. I conducted structural tests and control surface tests. I have yet to do a flight test and VTOL development
  • F450 Quadcopter Drone I successfully assembled and flew an F450 Quadcopter with autonomous missions and live telemetry using 3DR telemetry radio F550
  • Hexacopter Drone: I successfully built an F550 Hexacopter with a payload capacity of 1.6kg and 10 minutes of flight endurance for use as a test drone for remote sensing and telemetry equipment.
  • Swift Lab electrical VTOL for Medical Emergency Logistics: I was the Lead Avionics Engineer in Swift Lab's team to build and test the company's e-VTOL commercial drone prototypes.
  • IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) 2023: I participated in the IOSA 2023 Audit for Kenya Airways (AOC). My roles included gathering and documenting evidence of implementation of IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPS) from different departments such as asset services, engineering development, technical QA, stores, and planning.
  • Revision of Kenya Airways Maintenance Control Manual (MCM): I participated in the revision of Kenya Airways Maintenance Control Manual (MCM) Version 6 Revision 0. I worked in a team responsible for formatting the MCM to ensure compliance with the Corporate Documentations Manual (CDM).
