Extensive experience in managing complex programs meant to institute gender-responsive policies and promote women's economic empowerment, particularly the development of inclusive care policies targeting vulnerable groups such as children, persons with disabilities, communities affected by FGM, and the elderly. Have managed to successfully lead multidisciplinary teams, design and implement strategic plans, and engage key stakeholders in leading impactful changes.

  • Pioneered Anti-FGM Policy.
  • Developed the Gender Mainstreaming Policy.
  • Developed the Women Economic Empowerment Fund (WEEF), which eventually led to collaboration with Family Bank, with Ksh140 million as funding, which greatly empowered our women at the bottom of the pyramid in a massive way.
  • Worked with NACADA (National Authority for the Campaign against Drug Abuse) to establish the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act.
  • Established a policy that enhanced our Disability Fund from Ksh10 million to Ksh50 million so as to reach out to more vulnerable people.
  • Automated data collection in the Persons with Disability Fund.
  • In partnership with Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS), we build capacity in our community to enhance co-existence with wildlife
  • Through this we empowered the youth by having them take the role of Community Rangers.
  • To protect our elephants, we collaborated with Bonham Foundation and built a 1,000 km fence at Kimana to protect the community from human-wildlife conflict.
  • Revived the Maasai Council of Elders (LAIGWANAK)
  • We were able to successfully preserve our culture and communication from the County Government of Kajiado, and this makes information dissemination to the ground easier.
  • Through my leadership, we received the certificate of conscription of Maasai rites of passage from the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
  • Re-branded and launched our cultural centre at the Amboseli National Park, where the Maasai culture is now exhibited
  • Negotiated revenue share for the community in line with SDG-sustainable development objectives.
