Organization Overview: Acute Febrile illness surveillance & Mortality surveillance by ICAP Global Health.
Responsibilities
Participant Screening, Consent, and Enrollment
- Systematically screen patients presenting with symptoms of acute febrile illness in designated health facilities
- Identify eligible participants and obtain informed consent in accordance with ethical and study guidelines.
- Enroll consented participants into the surveillance system while ensuring confidentiality and protocol compliance.
Clinical Course Monitoring and Follow-Up
- Track and document the clinical progression of enrolled participants, ensuring accurate and timely updates on patient status.
Data Collection and Reporting
- Accurately fill out surveillance forms, case investigation reports, and mortality data tools.
- Ensure timely submission of complete and high-quality data to the database or surveillance coordinator.
Mortality Surveillance
- Support the documentation and verification of causes of death within the facility.
- Collaborate with clinicians to ensure proper completion of mortality reporting tools and improve the quality of medical certification of cause of death.
Stock Level Monitoring
- Monitor and manage surveillance-related supplies and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels for uninterrupted operations.
- Report stock status and request replenishments as needed in a timely manner.
Ethical and Confidentiality Compliance
- Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all surveillance-related activities.
Capacity Building Support
- Assist in sensitizing and training facility staff on surveillance protocols, participant eligibility, and proper documentation procedures.
