Organization Overview: Acute Febrile illness surveillance & Mortality surveillance by ICAP Global Health.

Responsibilities

Participant Screening, Consent, and Enrollment

• Systematically screen patients presenting with symptoms of acute febrile illness in designated health facilities
• Identify eligible participants and obtain informed consent in accordance with ethical and study guidelines.
• Enroll consented participants into the surveillance system while ensuring confidentiality and protocol compliance.

Clinical Course Monitoring and Follow-Up

• Track and document the clinical progression of enrolled participants, ensuring accurate and timely updates on patient status.

Data Collection and Reporting

• Accurately fill out surveillance forms, case investigation reports, and mortality data tools.
• Ensure timely submission of complete and high-quality data to the database or surveillance coordinator.

Mortality Surveillance

• Support the documentation and verification of causes of death within the facility.
• Collaborate with clinicians to ensure proper completion of mortality reporting tools and improve the quality of medical certification of cause of death.

Stock Level Monitoring

• Monitor and manage surveillance-related supplies and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels for uninterrupted operations.
• Report stock status and request replenishments as needed in a timely manner.

Ethical and Confidentiality Compliance

• Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all surveillance-related activities.

Capacity Building Support

• Assist in sensitizing and training facility staff on surveillance protocols, participant eligibility, and proper documentation procedures.

• Patient Assessment and Diagnosis
• Minor surgical procedures
• Treatment and Management - Assist in prescribing appropriate treatment plans and administering medical care in line with clinical guidelines.
• Emergency Care Support-Assist in managing medical emergencies, stabilizing patients, and referring as necessary.

• Patient clerking for both inpatient and outpatient cases
• Preparing and writing discharge summaries
• Performing laboratory-related tasks, including sample collection
• Participating in community health outreach and activities
• Assisting with bedside procedures such as catheterization and lumbar puncture
• Delivering clinical services in various outpatient clinics.

• Conducting patient clerking and clinical assessments
• Dispensing medications in accordance with prescriptions
• Participating in medical outreach and community health initiatives
• Administering prescribed medications safely and accurately
