I have spent the past 11 years working closely with pastoralist communities in Northern Kenya. My expertise lies in community development, peace building & conflict resolution, social action research, pastoral community resilience, program management, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, & resource mobilization. Throughout my career, I have witnessed firsthand the unique challenges faced by pastoralist communities & have developed a deep understanding of their needs, aspirations, & cultural dynamics. I have successfully implemented a range of community-driven initiatives that have brought about positive change & sustainable development in these marginalized areas. My passion for community development has led me to specialize in peace building & conflict resolution, recognizing the importance of fostering dialogue & understanding among diverse groups. Through my work, I have facilitated constructive conversations, mediated disputes, & promoted reconciliation, resulting in improved relationships & lasting peace within these communities. Social action research has been a crucial tool in my work, enabling me to identify the root causes of social issues & tailor interventions to address them effectively. By engaging with community members & conducting participatory research, I have been able to develop evidence-based solutions that empower individuals & promote community resilience. As a seasoned program manager, I have overseen the planning, implementation, & evaluation of complex projects in challenging environments. I am adept at coordinating diverse teams, managing resources efficiently, & ensuring projects are executed successfully within specified timelines & budgets. My strong stakeholder engagement skills have allowed me to build meaningful partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, & community leaders, fostering collaboration & maximizing the impact of our initiatives. Work History

Field Office Coordinator

USAID Nawiri (Baragoi)- Mercy Corps

  • Lead USAID Nawiri program implementation coordination and coherence within the consortium, manage staff and program resources, lead in representation with government and stakeholders at sub- county and decentralized levels (wards, villages) and a variety of other stakeholders that are committed to reducing acute malnutrition
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, learning and adaptation amongst USAID Nawiri staff from across the consortium and local implementing partners’ staff, Mercy Corps staff, partner organizations and county government
  • Ensure coherent integration between diverse program activities and the continual refinement of USAID Nawiri approach based on evidence of what works
  • As a Field Coordinator I support the Field Director and lead integrated planning for the technical program scope implemented within the field-office management (wards) ensuring coordinated management with key focal point persons, including, and not limited to technical leads, local implementing partners, staff and component resource persons.

  • Developing Funding Proposals for Pastoralist Peace Museum and Community Peace Museum Foundations (PPM) to World Vision, SIDA, Swedish Institute (SI), Cultural Heritage Without Borders (CHwB), and ACTED-Kenya.
