  • My responsibilities were to come up with sub-projects that could be implemented to improve the livelihood of the people living within the Golini region of Kwale County
  • I also drafted a proposal indicating the same, including the budget and project timelines

Duties and Responsibilities


-Performing budgeting plans for upcoming Heavy Checks (C-checks, MODs, Engine Changes, STCs, etc.). And any other maintenance that has more than five days of ground time for the next financial year.

-Provide man-hours, manpower, and ground time needed per check for all heavy checks in a calendar year in the assigned fleet.

-Review of all planned heavy maintenance plans within a year with both production and back-office staff to align the checks for execution.

-The project manager is responsible for all heavy checks, both in-house and outsourced, from when the aircraft docks at the hangar to when the aircraft leaves for flight.

-Provide management with a detailed daily progress report and analysis of all heavy checks being undertaken in the hangars.

-Carrying out post-check activities (package closure and updating of accomplishment details in the MRO system) and planning for post-check meetings to discuss what can be improved in future checks.

-Carrying out corrective action plans on defects (ADDs, CNRs, etc.) during checks to increase aircraft reliability after maintenance.

-Execution of third-party aircraft work for other airlines seeking heavy maintenance services (from package preparation all the way to execution of the check and closure).

  • VSAT and Fiber Optic cable technology ( handled several types of fiber optic connectors like the SC, FC, LC and ST and also dealt with both multimode and single mode fibers)
  • The Power Feed Equipment (PFE)
  • SEACOM uses a TYCO power feed equipment to provide power to its optical amplifiers at sea

  • My responsibilities included: Performing routine maintenance on station equipment like the Generator sets (GENSETs)-187 KV generators-, the PFE, air cons and fire systems

  • Working with contractors during installation (mounting of ODF, router configuration, fiber splicing, equipment installation) and attending to Seacom customers
