● Having trained in Advocacy for Policy change and dialogue through PATH and the Bill Melinda Gates Foundation. I am well-versed in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies. Using this skills I have supported the Coffee Sub sector reforms in Kenya with advocacy tools and position papers and convening events to demystify the process to farmers as described below:

Capacity building of Women in Coffee: Delivered quality services to women in coffee across eight African countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, Ethiopia, DRC, and Cameroon. I conducted a study on the institutional capacity of Alliance of women in Coffee in 8 countries in Africa.

The results of this study enabled the IWCA global organization expand from 18 country membership to 38 members and growing. The results were an advocacy tool for promoting women's economic empowerment in Africa and Globally. This was with funding from the Rainforest Alliance, Solidaridad and UTZ.

Having set up the Kathera Women in Coffee in my village of birth where we have trained 600 women and 300 youth in climate smart agriculture with funding from the coffee innovation fund GIZ. The women group is now growing into an export and microfinance institution. USADF is funding their efforts to become a microfinance.

I also convened Kathera youth in Coffee and trained them to embrace agribusiness with funding from the Coffee Innovation Fund.

Developed the Advocacy and Communication Capacity of 11 Coffee Unions in Kenya which led to the abolishing of a 1-billion-shilling bank guarantee (by a presidential decree) allowing farmers to export their own coffee. This delivered true economic empowerment to 6 million coffee farmers in Kenya.

I was the advocacy consultant instrumental in bringing the voices of the coffee farmers together and helped to found the National Association of Coffee Co-operative Union – an apex body that brings all the Coffee Cooperatives together after the collapse of Kenya Planter Cooperative Union.

With Funding from the Swedish We effect The Cooperatives developed a position paper after 5 days of advocacy training. This is the body driving the current policy change in the coffee subsector in Kenya. They have negotiated with government and got 54 million shilling loan waivers for farmers realizing them from the yoke of debt and subsequent poverty.

I was the advocacy consultant that founded CEPA the Apex body of all the Coffee Estate farmers. These were missing voices from the coffee eco system since coffee growing was introduced to Kenya a century ago.

· Medical camps for farmers ensure access to services including family planning services. In 2024 quarter 1 I have run 7 camps and put 80 percent of the farmers on life saving NCD drugs. They previously did not know that they had hypertension, reproductive cancers, and diabetes and kidney ailments. This was in collaboration with the county governments, the Global fund, KEMSA and MEDS.

For this I received an award
