I am a Disaster Management Specialist with over 15 years of experience working with vulnerable populations (Refugees) with a primary focus on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Strategies.
The challenges and effects of disasters continue to lay a heavy toll on the economies of many Nations and, as a result the well-being and safety of persons, communities and countries remain threatened.
Human displacement and migration across Africa continue to pose a great challenge. Worst hit among these populations are refugees who are forced to flee from their home countries in search for safety and peace. As a Specialist, I stand in full support of efforts and strategies that go towards finding durable solutions to challenges associated with human displacement and migration.
Overall function:
The primary purpose of this position was overseeing two Special Caseloads teams (Minors and P3-Family Re-Unification) and ensuring efficient and accurate management of USRAP Minors and P3 processing activities across country offices.
In close coordination with Special Caseloads Management and respective P3 and Minors teams, we tracked gaps and trends to ensure compliance to set processing guidelines. More importantly, we completed training across the organization when knowledge gaps were identified.

As a supervisor, I took full responsibility to ensure strict adherence to RSC Africa policies, guidelines and procedures, particularly as they relate to Minors and P3 processing. This also entailed spearheading policy updates, monitoring implementation across country offices and providing training, developing new procedures and implement changes due to these updates.

Prior to being promoted to a family Re-unification Specialist, for a period running from Dec 2017 through to Nov 2021, I served at CWS/RSC Africa as a Senior Case Processing Assistant within the Special Caseload Department.

Developed Standard Operating Procedures for the Special Caseload (Family Re-unification cases, Minors and Expedite cases).

Worked closely with the Case Processing Support Coordinator, Programs to analyze and update the existing Standard Operating Procedures for Follow -To-Join (FTJ-R) Petitions following the new guidelines issued in 2017.
In Feb 2017, I was laid off from CWS/RSC Africa following U.S presidential determination to suspend the USRAP program. Prior to this, for a period running from Oct 2013 through to Feb 2017, I served within the organization as a Case Processing Team Leader.
