UNHCR - Kakuma
1.Setting up a new refugee processing station for the UNHCR in Kakuma, the project entailed
- Designing and building out a LAN for the officers working at the station.
- Setting up and deploying free Wi-Fi points all over the camp.
- Doing long masts to facilitate deployment of point to point equipment.
- Doing a Point to point connection from the camp to the HQ offices by deploying High power beams on high masts
2. Setting up LAN & Wi-Fi in newly built residential apartments for the UNHCR staff in the HQ. It entailed
- Deploying Network cabinets in designated points
- cabling each apartment for cable connectivity
- setting up Wi-Fi points for wireless connectivity
- inter-connecting all the different blocks via a fibre optic LAN
3. Blue Lounge Project (Eldoret)
This project entailed
- Designing everything from the ground up, it brought together architects, quantity surveyors, Project leads, Foremen, etc.
- I was charged with co-ordinating the entire project and was also in charge of designing and laying out the entire resorts LAN & WAN connections.
- Installation of IP phones and CCTV cameras
Kanyimbo Hospital Project (Kisii)
The project which covers 6 floors entailed
- Laying down the entire LAN topology through ducts and metal trunks
- Setting up and deploying servers in the Server room
- Installing and deploying Wi-Fi equipment
- Installing CCTV cameras
- Installing IP phones
